Well I wish I'd read this thread the other week. Have ordered an EK-FC280GTX block but not installed it yet.

Suffice to say I'm sending it back and will look into either the DD or Aqua blocks. Far far too many reports of fried cards for my liking and I can't afford to fry a £240 card, especially when I may not be able to get the original sink back on without any signs of tampering and the manufacturer may thus void the warranty on it.

I thought EK were amongst the best but there's obviously a big problem with these blocks - how has this been allowed to happen?

I receive my f*u*c*k*i*n*g new card from BFG. RMA was very fast ... but the card warm like hell with stock cooling : 20°C more than my old card in full. I change two times the thermal grease (mx2) but temperature still horrible

I read that a lot of the early cards had overheating issues and were returned because of it. Sounds like they may have replaced yours with one of these early returned cards?

I try also with the waterblock and temperature still very hig. Maybe a problem of contact between the HIS and the gpu, or probe problem.
No way, I have to return the card. I will lost 1-2 weeks more and have to pay one more time shipping to rma
