Ok first number on Residual<Norm> is 1.547420e+008
    2nd number is 2.575707e+008
    3rd number is 1.141571e+010

Numbers are alot closer then they were last time, but i enabled Dram Static Read Control. In the BIOS it says that when it is disabled it might enhance Ram OC'ing abilitiy. have you noticed higher results with it disabled? Going to try it now

Yea i know about the board overvolting. i originally had it set to 2.1v so it was effectively 2.19v in BIOS so i ended up with 2.12v in bios and that equals out to 2.21v
Oh yea, i have PF at 15..

Ok i set Clk skew on both channels to 250.
    Burntest running atm.
try setting PF to 9 and your Latencies to 5-5-5-15, I also use 2.00v here for my g.skill DDR1000 to run at 1066Mhz

Tried PFL at 7 but wouldnt post. hung at Det. DRAM
    Still tweaking.

I just had to jump in and say.. Grnfinger, that block looks like it was made for that board with the contour of the mount and the voltage hardware on the mobo. Extremely sexy looking! I hope everything works as good as it looks.

Nah, not worth it. i cant just increase the Mhz anyway. im not going to raise the strap to get a higher ram speed. Im at a 333 strap, the next step is 1105 and thats proven unstable. 1153 is 266strap lowest setting. Im fine with 912 as i can make the timings so tight its insane. 5-4-4-12 is stable so far. going for 4-4-4-12. if thats stable i'll try to further lower them.
I lowered my common performance level even further to 8. im going to try 6 in a bit once i get 4-4-4-12 and we'll see. REALLY impressed with this board and the way it handles my ram. 780i sucks compared to this.

    Ok, another update.

5-4-4-12 proven stable. Moved on to bumping the FSB to 465 equaling to 3.96 on the CPU and 931 on the ram. .06 extra Mhz on the CPU and 10 extra Mhz on the RAM and i didnt have to touch any voltages. VERY happy

Now I have booted at 450FSB

Priming now but I keep getting random cores failing

45NM Chips have a 95c TJunction and not 105c like many CPU Temp. monitors will read.. Not sure how they react to the new E0 chips, but my E8400 does.

I use REALTEMP by Unclewebb, here at XS.
no those temps are about correct.
dont sit here for one minute and think that just because of those low volts that the temps AUTOMATICALLY = low thats 100% false.
4ghz on air just the GHZ alone,, that will give you temps about in that range...

the 10deg was only for the early E8xx chips.
i have not seen anything about bad temps with the new ones.

Yeah, the Apogee GT looks like it was made for that board.

Anyway, after a day and half of fighting with the board I came to the conclusion it may be defective, probably why it was returned. Anyway, I put my Blitz back in and now I have both sticks running and I am able to oc my chip to 4Ghz with little effort, got to love when things go right. So, that being said, thanks everyone for the help, unfortunately the Maximus just isn't for me. Even with all the great info in this thread I kept hitting a wall and I just don't have the time to mess with it anymore.
Again, thanks for all the help,

407 is really fussy for me. Have to set my RAM timings manaully on all straps to be able to use the 1st RAM speed. If I use the 2nd higher speed, I can leave it on auto and boots no issues. Getting alot of blue screens but now that I'm doing it manually it's not giving RAM errors etc...

Don't know if it's worth trying 408 - think it just hates me end off - 308 was so nice.... why can't it have nice E8600 support :'(
