X-Fi xtreme music mic boost missing

I just got an x-fi extreme music (with the optical ports). Just installed the latest drivers and i cant seem to find mic boost. Its just nowhere, not in x-fi options or windows sound options. Anyone know why or where to find it?

also i have 2 outputs im using, 1 - pc speakers and 2- spdif out which connects to a reciever.. for some reason i cant change the bass settings or any of the x-fi settings when my windows default playback device is set on spdif out.

    any help is apreciated, thanks

Double click on the sound icon, go to options, properties, select recording, OK, options, advanced controls.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

In Creative Control Centre is an option on the Recording tab if you click the microphone bar it will pop up with a tiny window Mic db Boost +20, tick it and click Ok

Sounds like you need to click on that mic bar. The one that shows the volume input level.

you obviously don't have vista. as that mic bar takes you to the mic properties, which has no mic boost option in any of the tabs as shown in the above picture

Nope, I don't. I was just reflecting what the other guy said. I'll leave you miserable Vista owners alone now.

For that we should thank BOTH (AMD and Intel) companies!

    for vista users:

go to control panel (classic view)
    sound
    recording tab
highlight microphone then click properties button
    custom tab
click in "microphone 20+ db boost" box to check it
    click ok

    tada!

Dunno I'm using X64 Vista and X-Fi Elite PRO with the newest drivers in the Creative section and I can adjust the Mic 20 DB boost even through windows sound options and in the X-Fi Center too, just click through it if you can't find it , it's not that hard to figure it out by yourself ... There istn't that much of an option what to select and where to click ... After I arive home I'll screenshot it for you .. gosh

I have a clan mate with the exact same issue. The option to boost mic just isn't there, because there should be a custom tab. Any news from creative? Glad I got the Xonar this time, there drivers aren't perfect by far but they do work well with vista.

Please post back if you find a solution, and good luck.
