Playing with Foxconn A79-S, Phenom 9950 and CrossFireX for G|C

I say A79-S is a very good board for overclocking the phenom. it behaves really well and is quite easy to understand except some options that seem to be still beta. but when they are sorted out it will be a very good AMD board.
I just ground-coated the board today and did some further testings with the cards - one of them seem to have an older bios and when I put that in slot 1 CFX won't work. I have all 3 cards on 680 now, higher will reduce score in 03
When I have time tomorrow I'll do some DICE on the chip then. But maybe I can't do it before GC starts - let's see

Well i had my foxconn a79a-s rig up and running over a week now . My final 24/7 clock on my 9850BE is 3.1 ghz. at 1.38v . On my old DFI landparty DK M2RS board the best i could get when
using 3 video cards was 2.7 ghz. The SB750 chip just handed me a new cpu . At 3.1 ghz it has all the power i need to game with now. You add in the new 8.8 driver i set a new best for my
self out a 3Dmark-06 16,226 score . And when you look at the canyon flight score (crossfire test) the 102 FPS score is getting it done for using 3850s video cards.The olny thing i can say bad
about the board is there a vista , realtek driver problem that stop the rear speaker from working right when using 5.1 sound. I'am working with tech support so hopely we can get fix.

I'am using some cheap $ 75.00 for 4 gigs a-data 800 (2x2) 5-5-5-18 i'am running 230 FBS at 920 ghz. no trouble .
i ran prime on it for 45 mins it when throught 3 test no trouble .

im pulling 16,100 with 2 3870's and 9850@ 3.2,3.0,3.1,3.1 on an old SB600 K9A2 Platinum

only thing holding me from better scores is the processor.

i cant wait untill another set of 790FX/SB750 boards surface

Dude, your CPU will do 3.3-3.4+ with an SB750 board. You have a good CPU it seems.
