so yesterday we had to study the bios of the board to fund the air until the 4 am!
The machine:
Board: Asus P5Q3 Deluxe
CPU: E8600 (Q822A435)

As for cooling was already i used my Rotary
after many hours to study the bios decided to make some very rapid tests already that day and so today was just a short while.
Some scores here!

This was the maximum that meet validated but was at least up to 660FSB believe that the maximum it is 670FSB, is a point that still have k check.
As the mems maximum that could take as PS was 9-8-8-19 @ 1031MHz to 1.90v
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=403478
Maximum i achieve even that was 1100Mhz the 9-8-8-21 with 1.90v but took no P.S.

8.125s without tweaks
not bad for one of these cpu

I get the Asus Bioses Str8 from Taiwan - I'm an Asus Moderator. Have a pipeline indirectly to the R&D Dept.
I just get the ones I have boards for. Such as Rampage Formula, Rampage Extreme and P5Q3 Deluxe.

@ crazy inside..... HOLY CRAP man! what did you do different than the rest of us? i can get my ram to run over 1600mhz and you got yours over 2000. can you post some settings up? my e8600 is on the way.
Hey guys, was hoping I could get some help, fitseries3 may amuse himself at my expense but that's fine. Basically using my system as listed in my sig, I have gotten into windows at various settings for speeds ranging from stock, 4GHz-4.6GHz, but never exactly stable. I have mostly been using the chip for benching so no stable has be found exactly, but the previous owner had it 24/7 10x400 1.368v after droop I believe. Currently priming at the following settings. Used the settings in red to bench. PC overall seems to be more stable with single card (tested with both 3870x2 and single 4850) then with both 4850's in CF. RAM I have never gotten to run at 1600MHz when changing settings, but has booted at 1600 when I first tried the board with my E8500 (did the XMP I guess, anyway board booted at I think 8x400 when I first put the E8500 in). Also have done benches at the settings in red with 2x1GB or 4x1GB, all the G.Skill HZ's. That is all I can think of for now. Thanks in advance.

yeah mings could you post some nios settings? maybe help out with the gtl ref settings, I think that is where the main problem lies bacause it's tottally different from X38 and X48 gtl settings, or did you leave those on auto?
new bios 1303 work very well, but there are still problems with high memory divider (4GB kit).
For 3dm I have the stability only with 5:6 divider
For Spi (without Catalyst) i run 600x6 with 1600 Memory
setting:
- Ratio x6
- FSb 580
- pci-e 100
- auto
- 1546 or 1400
- auto

7-7-7-21
- cpu 1,39
- cpu gtl auto
- pll 1,7 ( i will try 1,6)
- vfsb 1,32

- vnb 1,36
- nb gtl auto
- sb volt auto
- sata pci volt. 1.5

optmized
Now i wait for 2x1GB kit (D9GTR) and i will try with high memory frequency.

@ SAV - is it worthwhile to take a risk the for this new bios?!
a simple test the memoirs

hey crazy inside, could you maybe post some bios setting? it would help me out big time, I'm just trying to figure these bios out and it's tricky.

Comments on this? 1275 says the bios, 1417MHZ says windows, 5-5-4-15 DDr3
Me smells something fishy
Got a problem with your OCZ product....?
Have a look over here
Tony AKA BigToe
Tuning PC's for speed...Run whats fast, not what you think is fast
thats odd??? maybe it's the bios version??? does it do it in earlier bios? it's not oly the memory divider theres also something that is wrong with gtl ref settings, setting them manually to what they are on auto causes no post same with fsb strap, jeesh, looks like I'ma go back to my maximus extreme.
man I hope the problems on this board are worked out before my RAM comes back
do those everest results necessarily correspond to 1400mhz speed RAM?

Any info about those rumored hardware changes? As Asus denies them.
like the new chipset revision? thats not a true romur, same chipset, far as I know only a few jumpers changed.
I guys
I received 2x1 GB OCZ 1600 7-7-7, but the problems continue
Now I flash old 1201 bios...stay tuned
@Tony
Do you have notice about SPD problems on this kit?
tnx![]()
it s the board it's a piece of crap, it should not be this much of a pita
damn! this is the second time i buy a board that looks good on paper, then do my reading and find out it's a piece of crap while it's still in the mail!
haven't got it fired up yet, but my fingers are crossed, i hope i have better luck.
However, most of the problems I've heard are from the OCZ side of things, and I did read on newegg that this board just doesnt perform well with OCZ, is it possible that at least most of this boards prroblems are limited to oCZ compatability?
