Project: Serendipity - Lian Li 343 Build

Gonna copy and paste all this off WCUK to get this thread up to speed!

I was scounting eBay at some stupud hour last weekend and happened to come accross a bargain on a case... i'm sure you can guess what it is from the pictures!
It cost me £125 in total which ain't bad for £300's worth of case and accessories!

To get the ball rolling.. here are my "teaser" pics!

    here's my new sexeeee fans!

Well I made a start stripping and cleaning it tonight, the actual overall condition is really good it just needs some TLC to make it look pretty again.
It was covered in glue residue presumable left over from sticky cable holding clamps etc, so i've made a start attcking it with my awesome cleaning fluid... I swear it'd remove my head if I gave it half a chance!

I should of taken pics before I started but couldn't be bothered at the time, just wanted to crack on.

As you can see it's just dirty really, but i'll soon fix that!!

Hard drive cages all cleaned and prepped for coating next week, probably gonna use the Silverstone one instead of the Lian Li as it uses a 120mm fan instead of the weedy 80mm one.

My finger tips... buggered from the glue!

Well it's fully stripped down for powder coating but I think I might hang onto it for a couple of days so I can rack my brains for mod ideas prior to coating it.

I defeated the glue though, i've attacked the ENTIRE case with the special cleaning fluid to remove any grease / dirt from it so it's good to go.

    EDIT:

Replacment PCI Slot covers arrived today, had to buy new ones as the case only came with 1.

I stripped the 120mm fan mounts to be coated black and found a few other bits and pieces to get done at the same time, probs drop them off next week as theres no rush for this stuff.

Got a tiny bit done tonight, just time filling things till I get the case back anway.

I braided my DDC Pro, just gotta wait for my exclusive pump top to arrive now!

Also made a start on modding my fan controller but I couldn't get it finished though because it's too late to start drilling!

Basically, i'm just gonna mod the Sunbeam Rheobus into a Lian Li 5.25" Bay Bezel to make it look nice and clean but also remove the crazy bright LEDs..

    EDIT:

1 Sunbeam Rheobus 4 Channel Fan Controller modded into a Lian Li Bay Bezel... DONE!

Next on the agenda... some sort of lighting controller mounted into a bezel!
Like last time, i'll have to drill it out in the morning because its a little late now.

Blank Lian Li 5.25" Bay Bezel & 3x Red LED rocker switches

Ready to be drilled with 3x 19mm holes

    EDIT:

Old school Lian Li bezel switch bay... not sure if I like it but meh.. DONE

    Next up, twin LCD bezel!

Quick mock up with the switch / fan bezels.. might buy a 4th switch and re-drill a new bezel so that it matches the fan controller.

and a spangly Silverstone HD caddy which has been powder coated to match!

    Love the custom pushfits switches.
Question, what bit did you use to drill them out?

    Looks great so far marcus!

I love this case, especially once powder coated. I'm still trying to decide whether to get one of these or a MurderMod when they come out...

I've never seen that DDC top before, is it custom-made?
