I rarely play single player games.
I like some multiplayer games, but then again I don't have too much time and the mood to play more than 1-2 hours per week nowadays.
I'm not doing this to impress anyone ( how can killing your stuff for/with stupid reasons impress people ? ), I'm just doing it for "research", as I'm looking to find if any of those voltages ( FSB and/or PLL ) can really kill a C2D/C2Q.
From what ? From the anandtech article and their two dead CPUs ?
That's hardly proof...
And if you check the votes here, those do not reflect what you've just posted ( that people know and think that 1.4V to 1.5V are deadly for these CPUs ).
Both rigs are still running fine, without any signs of degradation, performance drop, instability, nada.
Lots of things are being described/said as obvious nowadays, but that doesn't mean that it's the truth.
People were saying "max 1.45Vcore for the 45nm's, else it'll degrade".
Yeah right
None of my CPUs degraded at all, and I've been punching 1.6V+ on all of them even on air cooling for hours. ( not to mention the 2.0V+ while benching with Dry Ice / Liquid Nitrogen ).
