It is very different.

If you haven't already, read up on a CS3 HDR Merge guide, it will help a lot.

The last few sets have been tonemapped manually (No 'Merge to HDR' plugin) using 3 images and layer masks, liking the results so far

not really much to say about the pic. Looks blurry, colors are very, washed out, noisy. Not a good picture.

That's a great result. I think you'll come to appreciate how much sharper CS3's HDR merges are compared to just about everything else. After some tweaking with color/contrast you can really make them pop.

I have a new toy coming...got the D300. Can't wait to fire off brackets at 6fps
