    Sounds good then.

    We need....

Card (name, manufacturer, amount of mem, etc)
price( price and price w/ MIR if there is one)
Link to the card (and link to MIR if its there)
PPD (if you can get this, it would make me happy and save me a ton of time)

All of this would make me a VERY happy camper!

You guys can PM me as well so it doesn't clutter the thread, plus I'll give you credit for the find!!

url's, a bbcode nested listing ect inside. It's allot easier to read when the info is predictable grouped ect

    Edit:

    [ list ]
    -------- one entry
    [ * ][ list ]
    [ * ][ url=shopurl ]Card name / clocks / price / mir [ /url]
    [ * ][ url=manufacturerspage ]Manufacturers page[ /url]
    [ * ][ url=urltolatestlegomansheat ]PPD/$$$ and PPD/Watt for this card, linking to spreadsheet from legoman[ /url]
    [ /list]

damn yes sorry it is!! Synth it's being linked from the stickies instead of having it stuck to the top of the forum. Idk, it's to keep the forums more easy to navigate but I wouldn't object to really sticky this. It's a current thread, and if you keep it updated it would only make it harder to diffrientiate between this thread and real new threads as they both would be intermixed all the times.

Just my opinion, it's TPTB who decide what happens ( and I want to lay off asking for to many things, I might be firing bullets which would be handier to keep spare )

I was thinking about the open box version, it's $87 shipped, but the the dual-slot 9600GSO has a $30 MIR and is $127 shipped. I've got the money from my old 3870 so we'll see what i end up ordering

It's not the best PPD/$ but...
    http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...tCode=10008786
    Palit GTX280 $399 - $30 MIR = $369

My opinion; you should do the first post with the descriptions as links eg.

    9600 GSO 384mb (same as 8800GS) 4700+ ppd

That's also another card to add to your list.

Some have said that it only gets like 2500PPD... So I'm not sure?

Sparky, 486 told me it was 2500 ppd. I think he has it set up wrong. If its an 8800gs revision, then its 4000+ i think.

It is just a rebadged 8800GS so the PPD will be the same. If someone is getting 2500 PPD with one then I'm sure they missed a flag or something while setting up folding. I've never setup GPU folding (will be soon) so I'm not sure exactly what it takes.

I have one folding now. Its VERY easy in vista. I'll have 3 more folding in vista. I am going to order two fo the 384 mb cards and 1 of the 512mb 9600gso's.

Yeah, someone please reply, answer the question or have a knowledgeable type discussion as to whether the 8800 GS and the 9600 GSO are infact the same cards (why the "#96" for the 9600 GSO?) I have a 8800 GS crunchin' ATM, shaders OC'ed to 1703 (from 1300+ something stock), fan set to 90% with RivaTuner, affinity set to #3 and priority set to BelowNormal, the CPU 0-2 cores are WinSMP clients (v6.22 RC2) and their priority is set to Low (I get about 1400 ppd).

I get about 4500 ppd for my "el cheapo" 8800 GS ($79 geddas after the MIR), but the most impressive things are the core temp 55c, ambient a hot 31c and the fact it draws low power. I have confirmed this with a Killo-o-watt meter at the wall (both quads, DSL modem and router on the same power strip plugged into a TrippLite 850 back up) reading of a grand total of 356 watts (not too shabby seein' my back up goes to 450 watts )

They are the same card. The 9600GSO is a G92 variant of the 8800GS (G80.) NVidia wanted to carry over the 8800GS to the 9 series.

In theory the 9600 should be a bit faster/cooler/efficient but I'm not sure if that's true in the real world. These cards are (were) so unpopular that it's hard to tell as people usually don't review these cards like they would a GTX280.

Looks like this is another case where for some strange reason the cards aren't getting the PPD they should be...............i guess the single-slot 8800GS is the way to go.....

Also there is a MSI 8800GTS 512 open box that comes in and out of stock for $130.

Do we have a few people that have posted FAHMon screen shots showing their low PPD 9600? I know of one guy.
