I knew that I-ram was good but, I didn't realize there was ZERO access time.Really nice. I just don't like the limited capacity.

Supposedly the ACard Device was going to be out end of august
ddr2 with up to 8GB dimms

I never heard of that one, it is better, twice the capacity of the I-rams. When they get over 10gigs is when they would be more appealing. By that time the Fusions will have gone down in price. I'm kind of commited to the SSD's now. (Invested alot) I figure if I get a good controller card and continue to add SSD's to my RAID0 I'll have SCREAMING throughput.

Man that has a high burst rate! whats the difference from a regular raptor? I mean other than the higher capacity. Is it the interface? I'm thinking mine has a 1.5gb/sec interface

its a bit higher in sustained and burst and has ncq afaik, SATA 3Gb/s interface on the VR's, I don't own any 150's and 300's but I believe they are a bit faster than my 80GB models
That was the OEM model (that comes in Dells) btw not sure how a desktop version would differ (probably only slightly)
Will have Samsung Spinpoint F1 320's (HD322HJ) and a 60GB OCZ Core V2 shortly
Got a email back from Acard with regards to their drive, its been pushed back to October, really looking forward to that![]()

I haven't looked in the thread but I imagine this is a bit unique. 4GB CF 300X connected to a CF to IDE converter. All this PC is used for is surfing the Internet so space is relatively unimportant.

Reason I went this route is because where the PC is located I was going through a HDD or 2 a year. It's hard on a HDD to not crap out in the Texas heat.
