Bloody good overclock. Voltage is high though. Is that overclock through BIOS or AMD Overdrive?

Well it's intel's compiler,they made it the way it is.Software companies can use other compilers out there,but most firms prefer intel's since it gives the best performance on intel's chips(which are the most spread CPUs on the market).
It would be nice to see a Linux open source test bench application suit(like the one Phoronix use),which could be compiled with best compilers out there for both intel and AMD.Crippling the AMD to less optimized SSE path(as shown before in my previous post) has serious performance effects on AMD's chips.I wonder what paths are used by such apps and games as Lost Planet,FutureMark Vantage,Cinebench etc. when you run them with non-intel CPUID.

I am under H20 and idle is around 40*c and load is 49*c I dunno why idle is so high.....49 was peek under prime after the past few hours....

In short, everyone but me has had good results. Some people are getting 200-400MHz increases. I on the other hand didn't move a single MHz. I'm still waiting on some sort of mystery BIOS for my ASUS though, so things may change.

It's NOT only you Particle...

I got higher clocks on the old 96BE but I think it was only because I was pushing alot more V's than I'd ever done before, and it turned out not to be stable anyway....

After I swapped it out and put the 9850 in the results were much less pleasing. In fact I can't even get the clocks I was getting on the K9A2 using this Asus.

Just my luck... I had so many problems with the GBT-DS5 that I paid the extra few bucks for the Asus 780GX and now the GBT GX boards are smoking, while I again end up with a POS...

I'm like you, pretty sure it's just the "0204" Bios, but trying to find an update seems to be near impossible and Asus tech support is taking an awfully long time to get back with my trouble report... **sigh**

I have a fan cooling the heatsink.. temps are not what they would be. The heat sinks are almost cold to the touh now tho... They were pretty warm.

Thats REALLY encouraging that you're getting FSB overclocks like that and not just a multi based one. I'm pretty stoked actually to see that. I got one of those cheapo 8650 tri cores off fleabay (probably fell off the back of a truck, but for 100 clams, who care). I can get 2.8 out of it but it blows up here and there. 2.7 is solid. I think I'm gonna get a gbyte board and pump some volts and clocks up its keester and see what happens

thanks for the reply sir... i was just concerned about the pwm temp. currently i've been bugged by high temp @ pwm whenever i do prime. if pwm temp is not a problem on this board, i'll definitely grab one when it's available locally.

I think i found something quite interesting... Is how well this CPU undervolts now.. I dunno if it is from ACC or not.. I will check that out tonight maybe...
May be it is just me, but 2.7ghz at 1.8v seems pretty good considering that the 2.5ghz stock uses 1.3v

Yesh.. yesh I did

I made to profiles in AOD and can switch between them on the fly. One is 3.0ghz stock 1.3v and 2.7ghz 1.18v. Just thought I'd share if anyone was curious.
