we are NOT talking about cores gentlemen, we are talking about TIM. Please keep that in mind. The orientation of this waterblock is socket specific, not core specific.
Thanks for the clarification, I've just noticed on some other blocks that generaly the orientation of the nozzles needed to match the core orientation for optimum cooling so I assumed this would be the same. It doesn't matter for the quad which is what I'm testing anyhow.

Have you guys tried a thicker o-ring in the V2 as a modified block test?

I've got one in mine, and need to go back and run stock now, but I think the additional bowing helps a fair amount.

It also probably depends on the TIM material used. The TIM consultants TC Grease 0098 stuff seems to a metter TIM interface that some of the others I've tried and showing less gain on bowing than non-bowed blocks. It's pretty thick stuff though, and I've had to adopt a spread thin method for consistent and optimal performance with it.

Anyhow, my GTZ sample won't be here for a couple more days, I'm sitting here with popcorn too...Actually I've got 8 block sets of runs done and still have several to go and several modified tests I want to run as part of my review package. Then I've got to go back and retest the "As Shipped" which is going to take a while and a little case modification work to add to the list.

    Are you done...yet?...

nozzles are missing the cores then on the yorkfield.

planning was done on kentsfield then, and the smaller yorkfield package is missing the injector path.

Havn't tested it yet, only stock with the EK oring. I still have a few more stock runs to do, then I'm moving onto the "Overclocked" Nozzle/Bowing/Stepping" experiements..

I've yet to see this, but meh, I'm sure my EK is borked. I mean, it tests worse than the 6002.

Yeah, I did something similar, but just some Zurn 3/4" hosebarb brass globe valves. If you look down the opening of these guys when open, there is no restriction at all. Then all I have to do is blip a few bubbles into the reservoir and I'm off and running again.

This also allows me to pull the entire loop away from the case when switching out blocks. Me and spilling go hand in hand...so over the workbench is much better than over the MB.

Now I just need to work on a techstation or horizontal case someday.....

I removed my v2 quad insert last week, I run prime95 for 2 hrs and recorded the temp, then removed the insert and bleed, prime95 2 hrs, I got the same load temp but that's with 2c room temp rise, so i think the quad insert provides worse result on a quad ( q6600 3.6@1.36v)--at least in my setup.

Edit: i have just emailed gary asking him to special order me one. So when i get it i'll show it off.

I'm curious to have the definitive data backing this claim. If it really does, I'll have to put the stock midplate back on my v2 which is cooling my Yorkfield Q9450.

Yeah, I know but I'm being lazy At least, give me some slack since I started training last monday (need to get up to shape).

I will probably do it when I have time to do a full disassembly for cleaning then see if it improve with the stock nozzle.

My EK will probably spank this GTZ even. Well im using custom accelerators.

My Cuplex will probably beat this GTZ as well, thats if martin finished stepping it.

Gabe you need to step the block and not bow it. Scott definitely discovered a winner.

Only problem tho, once stepped the block can never be used on neha since the die package is different.

Stepping was meticulously tested. Our block design is evidence of the route we chose based on our test data.

@R3: I know that, there was even a thread here about it in the news section. I was joking you know...

The only issue i can see would be noise. Being a benching station, there's nothing stopping those pesky decibels getting to my (annoyingly sensitive) ears .
