What? No MSI?
MSI DKA790GX Platinum
According to what I have read, there will be three SB750 products from MSI:
DKA790GX Platinum
DKA790GX
KA790GX
I see that the success with Asus' boards are limited (Not surprised). Why not someone give MSI a try.

I was waiting for the Foxconn Dreadnought, got fed up of waiting so was going to just buy the MSI 790 FX, then I noticed that some mobo manufacturers were going to put the SB750 on the 790FX chipset so decided to wait a little longer again.
Does anyone know when the ASUS M3A79-T DELUXE is going to be available in the UK?
I agree Asus BIOS support has gotten very poor lately, and most of the time there are BIOS' available here or elsewhere well in advance of them appearing on the ASUS downlaods website.... thank God for that, as it takes forever for BIOS' to be made available officially through that...
and trying to contact ASUS support is an ordeal in itself, often ending in a canned reply like "Please be checking motherboard support page for updates".....which is of no use and no answer to the originall question....!!!
I think having a job as an ASUS support member would be the easiest job possible, just run a script to send a canned reply to all e-mail requests received on a given day....
Hi I'm waiting on them as well, not even been able to find any 790GX boards in teh UK yet, let alone the 790FX/SB750 versions.... the closest I've come to finding a 790GX mobo is at Morecomputers.com where they have an availability date of 19th Aug, so we can probably expect to not see the M3A79-T until mid-end Sep at this rate...
Slightly OT I know, but have you seen the prices of the 4870X2 at oveclockers.co.uk.... compared to US prices, as always we're getting totally ripped off... cheapest 4870X2 here is £375.99 thats approx. US $ = $742.17 whereas in the US apparently they are listed at approx $559 thats an extra $200 approx. even VAT can't account for that much of a difference..... its like a 50% markup..... if the price was a bit more balanced I might have considered getting one, but no way at this price.... at the $559 US price it should equate to £278.63 over here, which is high enough IMO.... I certainly wouldn't pay more than that..... including VAT...!!! Not for a single card anyway...

OcUK always overcharge in the first couple of weeks a new product is out. When the 4870 arrived they were charging around £230 for it. And then they had the cheek to put on a special promotion where you could buy two cards for £440.
Still, they are capable of the odd deal. I've had some great cheap memory from them in the past.
I have seen an XFX 750a board for £80 which I think I may get in the mean time. I've been meaning to get a Phenom for a while as my two main rigs are both Intel's and fancy something different. It just seems to be one constant wait though.
I wouldn't buy from overclockers.
I considered buying from them once as they are a large etailer. I did a google search for some reviews. Lots of really terrible comments. Certainly put me right off.

Overclockers are not that bad. Picked up a 24" PVA monitor for £179 ex Vat a few weeks ago. Excellent buy, very happy with it. Been buying stuff from them for nearly 10 years now. They're expensive, rip you off with delivery charges if you need stuff outside of the UK but generally they have a good selection of stuff and good value as well if you look for it. They have a Phenom 9850 for sale for £109 which looks fair money
They are probably the biggest outfit in the UK for specialist pc components so get the largest share of complainants along with the sales.
Will very likely be getting a SB750 board from them as they will have the biggest stock earliest.![]()

hey! This is my first big thread!!!
Thanks everybody for joining in.
The 9850 isn't £109, that's excluding VAT. Thats the other thing that gets my goat about them. They put up massive prices, claiming it to be really cheap, then you click on it and find out the advertised price was without VAT. I have also heard some horror stories about their service.
BUT, I've bought quite a bit of stuff from them, some of it was good value and cheap, some of it was overpriced but they were the only place that had it in stock, so over the years I'm probably breaking even. And, although the delivery is a bit extortionate I've never had a late delivery, and they are the only company I have used who have managed that so far because I live in the arsehole of nowhere.
