I'm with you on that one Particle Although the onboard IGP in conjunction with a ATI Card is appealing. Just wish there was more slots on the motherboard as I need atleast 2 PCI Slots one for sound card and the other for my parallel Card for my Laser FAX/Printer

TBH, it seems like RS780D wont offer the same power saving features as nVidia has with their Hybrid SLI. So to be honest, I hardly see a reason in the first place to grab a RS780D board unless you're a HD 34x0 die-hard fan/HTPC/SFF user.

    Just get the RD790/SB750 combo

Like one of the reviews said it's a first LanParty (the first mATX) that you can actually take somewhere in the mATX case.
    LanParty Anyone?

Hey is Abit going to make one this time?

Glad to see someone think I'm not being absurd for once!

I currently have the following PCIe cards:
    - 1 PCIe x1 sound card
    - 2 PCIe x16 video cards
    - 1 PCIe x8 RAID controller

    I would like to add:
    - 1 PCIe x1 10/100/1000 NIC
    - 2 PCIe x16 video cards

I guess I'd need a 7-slot board for that, which is unlikely. I can live with just the two 4850s and the PCI NIC I'm using, which means I need a minimum of 3 PCIe x8 slots and 1 PCIe x1 slot unless I want to downgrade. I don't think any amount of higher clock speeds from an SB750 board is going to make up for that missing video card. heh
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.

Why are you even looking at 790gx boards? Sounds like you are wanting a 790fx.

    Isn't SB750 going to be only on 790GX? I am using a 790FX board currently (K9A2).

No, for example the DFI DK 790FXB-M2RS (790FX/SB750) has popped in a few threads now.
