Damn, prices on both boards are very reasonable for all the features (solid caps, etc). I thought I would have to wait a month or so for the price gouging to stop.
I predict that AMD is going to sell a LOT of these chips. No wonder all the motherboard manufacturers were silent when Nvidia inquired if they should continue to make chipsets.....![]()

It is funny how everyone was wondering when they would show up on e-tailers sites.. and no one has said anything about them.. has Anand's site updated their review?.. I wonder if Deneb will sneak out the same...? strange thing at AMD ..

I think the main features will be the ACC (advanced phenom oc) and the sideport memory to boost the 3DMark numbers.
Much more interesting for me (as I'm looking for a good HTPC mainboard) is in the short article on page 25 of the german printed ct-mag from monday.
"more 3D performance (compared to 780G)"
"Crossfire support"
"sideport memory"
"no hybrid power (like nvidia)"
"ACC"
"SB750: Raid 5"
but most important for me: "By chipset optimizations AMD said to have reduced the power consumption of 790GX boards compared to 780G."

You mean in addition to the overclocking and ACC stuff?
Is this the "big secret" you mentioned but couldn't talk about?

MY GUESS #1:
It has a built in hardware IOP for RAID and not just the normal software raid like most motherboards?
That would be VERY nice. Of course hardware IOP usually isn't as FAST as software on some benchmarks... although it has much less contention... so it would be GREAT anyway. Due to benchmark results most people wouldn't understand WHY it is better. The main benefits of hardware IOP are not something you can measure. EVEN BETTER would be if it came with hardware IOP that completely mimiced a normal drive so you wouldn't need any drivers.
MY GUESS #2:
A NEW type of crossfire... compatible with the 4xxx video cards but using a completely different method that is going to WIPE OUT Nvidia. (Or even updates to crossfire that allow for power reduction.)
MY GUESS #3:
Each SB750 comes with a built in single cup coffee maker.
