    Interesting to see, that according to this table, 790i ULTRA doesn´t support 2GB modules running at 1800Mhz and at 1800Mhz can only use 2 slots.
    So in teory, if we want to run our memory at 1800Mhz,or more,we are LIMITED to 2GB!!!

    i´m wondering if someone around here is running 4GB (2x2GB or 4x1GB) at 1800Mhz?
    Yep, I am. Linked at synch'd @1800Mhz with 4x1Gb SuperTalent (in my sig). Completely prime95 stable and no hard locks in the 3 weeks I've been using these settings.

    New EVGA 790i P05p bios out.

    http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=...55634;

    Apparently
    *The new P05p BIOS includes two new options that can boost memory performance. These options control internal timing parameters. These options can give a boost to performance at higher FSB and DDR speeds. A setting of "Auto" gives you the best overclocking possible. A setting of "Enabled" gives you the best performance possible.

    Has anyone tried SLI 280GTX's in the S2E yet?

    I've heard that the boards dont like SLI too much, I have a 280GTX SSC edition coming and would love to add another (i play @2560x1600) but am errrring on the side of caution at the moment.

    Vista users seems not to be experiencing the problem anymore with 177 drivers and 15.17 so I recommend you use the lastest nForce/GeForce drivers.

    I have XP and my 8800GT's didnt like to play videos until now that I fix it, but I still have to disable SLI to burn DVDs (the convertion of movies to DVDs make my pc freeze)

    I dont get it, what memory options are they talking about? How come they didnt mention SLI video freezes...
    If Audio is the cause of SLI freezes, then I will be happy

    P05 aint new anyways, and the memory options were to add P1 and P2 without an explanation as to their purpose.
    My old EVGA 790 board ran P05 and i went back to 04 cos it was just crap (both the bios and the board!)

    I am about to buy one of these. Can anyone comment on which 790i ultra is best? (I am leaning towards ASUS S2E)

    Also I want to run 8GB of DDR3 with the least amount of hassle possible, so which 790i has been the most stable with various RAM?

    Any reviews on P5N64 WS PRO. I have been searching for reviews for this board with no avail. I am seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on this one. The only thing that is stopping me is lack of reviews.

    * Added support for Wolfdale E7200 CPUs
    * Improved KF 1066/1333, YF 1333/1600, WD 1333 overclocking stability
    * DDR3 EPP-1600 stability improvements
    * OS compatibility improvements
    * ACPI compatibility fixes
    * Auto_Overvoltaging tweaks
    * NTune / Performance enhancements
    * Added more options to save/restore of overclocking profiles

    Anyone flash yet? I have been off this board since I had OS/disk corruption issues some months back. I hear that was fixed in P05? True?

    Just looking at ways to drive my temperatures down (just a touch) and im looking at the northbridge fan that comes with the Striker II board and wondering why they state that it will interfere with airflow on an actively cooled CPU.
    I've got the Asus Triton 790 cooler which looks passive but has a fan in the middle, and the Antec Twelve hundred case which has a fan in just about every orifice.
    Does anyone think this will actually cause an issue with airflow?

    Im looking into the 790i right now- I have a 780i and its got a dead pciE port

    I bought another 8800 ultra two days ago for cheap- to add to my 2 that i have now. And im goign to be RMA'ng the 780i but ill prob sell that off that comes back and buy a 790i and ddr3 ram.

    Im looking into getting a DDR3-1600 2X2GB kit.

    I am watercooling so am i better off buying a EVGA 780i and a waterblock (100 bucks extra and 339 for the evga)
    Or the S2E for round 450?
    Does the S2E WC block go to the SB and NB?

    I hope you saw the news/rumour about NV quiting the chipset business. Eventhough it's a rumour and NV has categorically deined it, I would wait a little bit more b4 pulling the trigger. I was actually thinking of picking up a P5N64 pro for a GTX 280 tri-sli and a raid card for the OCZ SSDs that I was plannin to buy(all under liquid cooling), but after seeing this news I am having second thoughts about it. I might go rampage extreme and dual RV700 instead. Just my $0.02.

    I don't get the logic. What has nvidia quitting or not quitting making future chipsets got to do with current boards that are already on the shelves??

    Plus if you read the news after- It was all COMPLETE BS lol.

    If you guys read anything the inquirer says about Nvidia and believe it....
    Well thats all ill say lol.

    You can read the story on engadget.

    Anyways Im wondering if im better off getting the Viperjohn WB for 790 i and prob something for the SB and the EVGA 780i or a S2E?

    Support??? Like say if they actually stopped the chipset business before the corruption problems were fixed. Do you think NV engineers would care to solve the problem through BIOS updates???. I don't think so. You have to take the after sales support into consideration, not only from the OEMs but also from the orginal manufacturer themlselves. Anyway, it was just my opinion, taking it or leaving it is up to you.

    755 is almost end of life anyway. How much support do you realistically think there will be for any boards besides bios code for upcoming cpu's?

    Unless a manufacturer announces a EOL for a particular line of products, most of the time they do provide support. As far as I know, NV hasn't announced a EOL for S775. It all changes if they decide to close their chipset shop, in which case all the chipsets they produced techincally have reached EOL. But, I guess it's a mute point since they have officially deined the report.
