Interesting. My P5E will not post above 440FSB with any quad.

Maybe I have a good one or u have a bad one.

Somtime in the next few days i'll try for 4.1GHz

These are the settings that i'll be using:

    FSB: 460
FSB Strap To North Bridge: 333 maybe need 400
    Multiplier: 9
    Vcore: 1.525v
    CPU PLL: 1.8v
Not sure on what ram speed but somewhere around 1066MHz or 800MHz, if 1066 the timming will be 5-5-5-15 if 800MHz then 4-4-4-12

Everything else on auto, good old mobo working the rest out for me, allways works so far

I think thats everything. Tell me if I forgot one.

So what do u think of my settings?

Got a quick question, im able to get up to 3.4 pretty easy but cant go any higher than that. Im still running an old dfi 965-s that after 5 minutes of occt the coils are rather vocal, should i continue messing with it or look for a newer chipset? (like x48)

Could be. I was able to get an E6750 to 514x8, above that, my RAM gave out and would BSOD on windows load. With quads, like I said, no post at all at 441 fsb and above. The Q6600 I sold recently was a VID 1.2250, so it was a good one.

I just remembered that I could get my mobo to post with a FSB above 405 before, then I uped the FSB strap to north bridge to 333 and it works great. Have u tried uping the FSB strap to north bridge?

Holy ... I just popped in my P5Q-E, and after 2 hours of wrestling with pushpins, my rig is back up...
My old setup with 750i SLI needed 1.384v to do 3.6GHz while it worked....
With my P5Q, I'm currently priming at 1.360v. Haven't tried lower.

I just tried lowering my vcore @ 3.6GHz, i got it down to 1.25v, then I was typing this post and then the dreaded BSOD cam up .

Anyway I still got some awesome results (in my opition).

    First off i got...

Then I lowered it even further and got...

Good to know that you've got a reliable mobo to work with your quad! Would like to know how high the FSB can go with this P45 board.

That mobo has a 4-phase pwm and i suggest you don't play with your quad on that mobo too much or you could do some real damage.

If you are getting 60C+ watercooling, then you might want to reseat your waterblock. Because mine is barely breaking 50C with 4 primes running with a fusion v2.

    I think i have to agree with Wolf132. 67C under load @ 1.3V is too high imo. I get max temp of 56-56-52-52 while priming running 9x400 @ 1.4V and 60-60-56-56 9x420 @ 1.49v real with a room temp at around 30C.

No problem man, it would be a good idea to get a mobo, no matter the chipset, with at least a 8-phase pwm, something like LT/UT Lan Party, Asus ROG boards or something similar. (won't add DQ6 series, don't like them very much)

my question about the q6600 is this I am a little confused about my bios i have evga 790i ultra i thought having a memory ratio of 1:1 with fsb was best, yet every where i read about overclockign with this bios says that unlinked sucks and wields poor performance, you was to link the memory i have read, well how the hell can i do that when a 1:1 ratio is not listed, you get the usal 5:4 and what not there is however a linked section called sync, i ahve no idea what this provided or what it means i have been able so far to reach 1600mhz fsb and if i manualyl set memory to 800 i get my 1:1 ratio can someone please help me understand this my memory is rated at 2000mhz i ahve the ocz special memory for the 790i that can go to that, what should i be setting in my bios for best performance
