Well seeing as your majority of settings are auto I would agree that everything is not setup accordingly.
But regardless this is a different board so same clock are not a guarantee.
308 is definately the best bios so far it gives max tref value and is the fastest bios for bandwidth.

I will look at your settings and make some suggestions for you to try.
    Will post them shortly

Off topic but how to do like your ICEQ card?
what kinda 3Dmarks scores do you get?
I have a 3870X2 on RMA with Asus and there dragging there ass on replacing the card....I can grab a ICEQ card super cheap was wondering if its worth it

Best DDR3 supporting chipset for Q9xxx?

    Hi people,

My rampaged maximus board is currently stuck at FSB 436 with a Q9300 processor. Since I am planning to get me a DDR3 supporting board I would like to ask here which chipset would be the best for a Q9 series CPU?

Is the X48 really a lot better than the X38 running a 45 nm quadcore? What about the P45 and nvidia 790i ?

Looking forward to hear some comments!

45nm quads and X48 are getting very good results
Cannot comment on P45 but the 790i is a decent board
Rampage DFI or EVGA would be solid choices, I personally would grab a Rampage.

DDR3 board for Q9300 and Co.

    Grnfinger:

Sounds good to me, trouble is, the Rampage does not support DDR3 RAm, or did I overlook some model?

I found another board, the MSI X48C Platinum X48. It even comes with both DDR2 and 3 sockets. I have no clue tho about it's overclocking functions in the BIOS tho.

I'd love to stick to ASUS tho.

Have you heard of the Rampage Extreme? It's the best board ever made, and it is a DDR3 board.

Thanks! My IceQ which i've now sold (running a 4870 now) was a great card. Never messed with voltage or anything and I managed to get this as a score for 3dmark06:

    Intel Q6600 / Asus Rampage Formula / 4gb Transcend AxeRam DDR2-1200 / HIS HD 4870/ PcPower&Cooling 750Quad / 36gb Raptor -150gb Raptor - 750gb Seagate / LianLi V1000B Plus II / Zalmann 9700 / Vista 64bit
