I had a different experience... Back then with P3's and Athlon XP's, sometimes when I forgot to put on the heatsink, the CPU would *fry*. I'd smell the fried silicon--it actually had burn marks on it.
After 10 years of pushing the voltage to the max, I have yet to see a CPU die due to overvoltage. Been running some chips at an insane 0.3-0.4 extra volts for like 2 years or so. Should I let you do the math, or should I do it myself?![]()
