4870 raw power testing!

had the card for couppel of days now and starting to get the feel it want more and more .

so here we go again with a new thread .

setup:
E8500 Q748A212
P5E3 premium bios 0505
OCZ PC3 12800 EB cas 7-6-6 D9JNL
OCZ 1000watt proxstream
fan lots off fans


The big red card .

vgpu mod done

space for 4the power phase for GPU

on air this card runned nature 01 at a blasting 920core with 1.34vgpu on stock cooling , so let's see if we can get more off that .


new testing space 4870 under 2stage cascade temps idle around -70°C core :s

so bumped vgpu to a good 1.4vgpu (LOW)

seems nice the 1100core with little cooling and vgpu .

bumped it to 1.45vgpu not mutch to gain it need more cooling i think .
like benchzowner sayed : 1mhz core = 0.936fps nature 01. 10mhz core gives me a nice 300mark in 03.

and now the new WR 3dmark 03

sorry MM next time il do beter .

there is still so mutch headroom left in these card but the load on my cascade is so bad , will see if i can dry ice or LN2 for the tek-9 .

nah cascade got my room all hot and there whase bad weather coming so had to stop , maybe i can push it higher with dice soon

I'm hardly keeping myself from buying 2 of these cards now...
Apart from any review samples, I'm trying to hold on and... "cash in" before the major "cash out" ( late August )
But I don't know if I'll make it... I'm crossing several hardware stores on the road today

here is some pics off the setup ready to bench some Ln2, the depo is closed till next monday so il have to wait .

Tek-9 3.0 (the destroyer) on the 4870 ramsinks mounted on the power suppley chips .


Dragon F1 EE on the E8500 Q748A212 (coldbug @ -145°C)


need to do more insulation on the card and containers, seen the core run @ -90°C on cascade idle so why not .
thinking if all go's well 1.2ghz core will fly by easy for 01 .
