You need to go to the maintenance mode. (use jumper) and set the FSB to
400 in order to use profile #1. (memory clock is at 800)

See GTJ's memory calculator on post just above yours.

Thanks. I will try that as soon as i get home. How is the 1600MHZ running on your dx38bt. I thought it was only capable of 1333mhz memory speed. Can i run mine to 1600? the memory is capable of it but i thought the MB was not.

It plugged in the cpu plug but it dont go any higher then 300. (thermaltake PO370 on a DX48)

You shouldn't have any problem. Mine's running at 400x7.5 now although my sig says 333x7.5

i've had my memory as high as DDR 1800. some people (with more expensive RAM than me) have run DDR 2000 on this board.

my memory (ocz extreme edition) says clocking should be at 7-7-7-20 with 1.75v (1.9v evp whatever that means lol) so the settings on profile 1 seems to be correct as far as i know. I have my memory in the black slots but i tried the blue slots. If any of this looks incorrect please tell me.

Which board do you have, the X38 or X48?
Exactly which memory do you have?
At 333 FSB you should leave the FSB and MCH voltages at stock.
1.90V for memory is way too much, back it down to the default of 1.54 and see what happens.
You can obvoiusly boot in maintenance mode so try leaving EVERYTHING at defaults (auto) and see what happens.
Can you boot with just 1 stick? Or is that how you're getting into maintenance mode?
tRFC sounds wrong. Should be >= 60.
    Try 7-7-7-22-60-4-10-5-5-1T

Set your MCH to 1.45 and set your memory to 1.75 and what slots do you have you memory in?

OK just read you tried in both slots, Have you tried 1 stick at a time to see if one is no good.

One more thing you have 2x2G's of ram right, so set the command rate to 2T.

Don't increase the MCH and FSB voltages. At stock speed increasing the voltage will make things worse.
    and...
I just noticed you have CPU Voltage Offset set to ON!!!!!
This means you're seriously overvolting your CPU to the point where you may have damaged it..

Reset the BIOS to defaults and see what happens.

Your command rate needs to be 2T with 4G's of memory 1T is to fast.

Good, but if you get BSOD or it not running right make sure your command rate is 2T.

with my old memory i never got BSOD (corsair). but sometimes i would have trouble posting. sometimes not but mostly on restarts. cold starts were usually not a problem. the corsair memory was not completely compatible with the MB. tiger sold it as a combo. is running the memory on auto recommended? what does the 1t and 2t settings do.

Thanks peeps. you have been great help.

All I can say is 1T is faster then 2T but with 4G's of memory a computer can't send the data threw it fast enough because it to big. So you need to set it at 2T.

Caneymud....now you have a home base. You can try other settings and always
come back to your present settings if you bomb out.

You need to decide where you want to run your processor and then use GTJ's
memory chart to try possible settings. You can check CPUZ or Everest to see
what settings "Auto" used to be able to boot.

Welcome to the club! I expect most of us here have fought this battle.......

cool. i effectively have about 2.25gb of ram because xp will only recognize 3.25gb and them 1gb is earmarked for video card use only. if i decide to oc this thing i hope you all will be here to help me. i am going to do some serious reading bfore i even think about ocing it thou. i dont know all the terms vs what settings they are reffering to. exp vcore. i assume this is talking about the cpu voltage, but not sure. lol. anyways thanks alot. going to dl orthos and run it for a few hours.

    We'll be here.

1T vs 2T: The command rate determines how many clocks (1 or 2) it takes to find a memory bank. It really doesn't matter how much memory is in the bank so this setting is more delendent on how many banks are populated. That's why it's generally 1T if you have 2 dimms and 2T if you have all 4. Doesn't really matter if they're 1gb or 2gb modules.

    EDIT:
Oh yeah, start running prime96, occt or other stress programs so you have a baseline at stock settings. Orthos only stresses 2 cores, BTW.
