using the 0703 bios on a plain P5Q ive been able to boot Windows upto 550fsb and have stability @ 500fsb. the P5Q is without a doubt the most uncooperative motherboard ive ever used

I have p5q-e but I think the 2 ethernet chipsets are the same.

Yeah the Pci-e one is loads faster, lower latency and much more efficient. I have got the pci one disabled in my bios.

It tells you in device manager but the pci one is number 2 in the bios.

Ive got a weird issue with this board.

If I turn of the electricity at the mains overnight when I turn on machine, fans start then machine shuts down. Everything starts as normal second time round.

As long as I don't turn it off at mains machine starts up and shuts down normaly.

    Ive got an e8400
    4 g.b of G.Skill pc 8500
    2, 74 gb w.d raptors in raid

and a 600 watt seasonic, running with vista 64 bit.

Strange thing is that while using the pci-e one, I got "connected" to my isp at 1Gbps (instead of 100Mb while using the pci one). I thought both were gigabit.

    Thanks for the advice.

had it @ 3.2ghz (400x8) with 1.25v core / 400 strap producing everest mem bench results as much as 400mb faster than what i am getting now. would like to improve the voltages as i didnt achieve 3.6ghz sensibly - instead of altering values one at a time i was jumping several and not always by small increments. was done at around 4am my time whilst starting to sober up!

    any recommendations?

Why you do this ??? Turn off the electricity is not needed at all, instead of times when BIOS fails to POST due to bad settings and you need to switch power button of PSU or to disconnect mains cable... I cannot understand why you ask such question - every time when you change settings in BIOS such as CPU voltage etc. this kind of restart occurs... So you have to be familiar with this instead if you do not clock your PC I will say it again !DO NOT TURN OFF THE ELECTRICITY AT THE MAINS!

    Hi forum! Hi @ll!
Well i got one of these mobos and I wonder if someone with Q6600 G0 has got FSB500 stable. I know I have to play with PLL, GTL and clock skews but I´ve been playing this afternoon and couldn´t enter to Windows (Vista Home Premium x64). I´d like to know some prime stable config at 500fsb. I´m with 0803 atm.
I wonder if my RAID0 could be problematic with oc and Vista x64 too. Thankss a lot !

PD: Long time without practicing english, spanish guy here. Greetings !

Well, I've surpassed my previous OC record for my Q6600 on this board.

    1.575V, Ram at 2.1V, 5,5,5,15, 1:1, On Air

It wasn't stable enough for anything more than SuperPi though. Perhaps when cooler weather arrives...
