At low MHz and low voltage at idle, there isn't much difference between a good cooler, a great cooler or even water. Heat transfer is never perfect so core temps at idle should always be a few degrees above either your air or water temp. An Ultra 120 would be perfect to do some testing with. The wife is on holidays so it's tough to sneak too much new hardware into the house without looking suspicious!

TAOTAO161: Read the RealTemp docs and see what makes sense. You should be able to do some testing and answer your own question about what software is telling you the truth.
