You should have the DFI Infinity on that list... its almost the same mb as the LP and about $50 cheaper.

I went from a NF7S ver 1.2 to a DFI LAN rev B....its great...
220 fsb to 250 fsb with same CH-5 mem.

howether i don't vote, because it's both very good mobos for amd (the best for overclocking)
probably DFI can be the best, but as i say other times many people show us fsb like 260-270 with that board but always with low multiplier, like 7-8.5x, and with this multiplier it's very very easy to get hight fsb on nforce2, also with NF7-S (i get one NF7 to hit 280mhz fsb 1:1 cpu int disable with pc4000 memory, so poor performance but 280mhz... and 8x, so very low cpu mhz... useless, only for test)...
howether noone have shown a 260-270 with 10x multiplier, that can be a very good combination...
seems that noone use this multiplier, so we can't understand if the mobo clocks well with >10x or not... and cloks well with hight frequences or not, because only few people pass 2600mhz with fsb >240mhz from the shot i have seen...
for this reasons i vote for both

Why even spend your money on more nF2 crap. Just to post a screenshot at 250-260MHz+ FSB?
I mean you got a nf2 board allready even one with a A1 NB?

just get the DFI it overclocks much better then the abit, reads real temps, etc!!! i already had 3 nf7-s rev 2.0 and every single one just died, rma s*** all the time, tired of it, i'm getting a the 4th in about 2 weeks but i'll try to sell it and get a a64 ou a dfi!!!

Not only does the DFI hit higher FSB's, but its also MUCH faster per clock than the NF7-S. 4 FPS alone in Car + Lobby, and with a 3200+ Barton and 9800 Pro makes 19,100 points stock. Its probably the best NF2 ever made.

i think that noone know it right now... it can be easy for the mobo, like it can be impossible...
so, thinking about this doubt i give my vote to both
I think SAE have proven what potential power the DFI packs. The compare below was done without vmods, so I would say the potensial is there and with some tinkering it might be even better
Linky to SAE's best compare atm.
Not that this prove the boards are the miracle cure for all, they do have their set of issues too.

my NF7 can also bench at 252mhz DC without vmod (vddr is needed for low timigns because at 3v it's difficult to find memory that can bench at 250-252mhz, howether vddr is pretty easy on NF7-S) at hight cpu clocks (but i don't have a 9800pro, only a ti4200), so yes, this linked it's a good board but i'm not impressed... i'm waiting for at least 255, or better a 258mhz 3d stable link to the orb...Originally posted by Shep

You dont get it though... the DFI @ 245 is faster than the NF7-S at 250+.
Even if it only OC'd the same, you'd get better performance. The NF7 has zero qualities better than the DFI.

howether i know tha DFI it's better than NF7 with lower multiplier, like lower than 10x, but with highter (10.5 or 11.5) when NF7 shows the best performance that it can how is DFI VS NF7??
because i have seen that in a bios update DFI regain the performance loses with 9x multiplier, and infact with 9x250 have the same performance than nf7-s at 10x250, but raising the multiplier both to 10.5x250 how is the difference??

Seriously the majority of Abit owners wont see those kind of numbers even with mods.
success from people that reaches good clocks is made by the vddr to 3.3v... this can be interesting because there is a probability that DFI have used +5v line for vddr, but i'm not electronic engeneer so don't know that...Originally posted by Shep

howether you show SAE that can make a very good run in 3dmark, but with 11x multiplier is DFI always faster than abit or it's equal??
howether by having an abit (probably a good abit) i think to not change it with a DFI, but if i haven't any board or fi my abit will burn my next try can be a DFI
but now A32 plataform is not the best choice for my opinion... with prescott incoming, P4 can be the best price/performance, because A64 costs a lot right now....
just comparing SAE's bench to mine, @ 252 FSB his lobby is only about 5 fps faster in low and 2 fps in high.. (we have very similar cpu clocks and video card clocks) I would have expected the gains to be a bit more given the 10MHz FSB difference
but if the DFI hasnt have multiplier issues then I would probably change straight away...
