Yeah, I sort of figured that. I really don't want to install all the Asus stuff if I can avoid it. Most of the drivers on the CD are old and have been replaced. I thought someone would have run into this and had an idea what to look for. Thanks for the reply though--

hi all, im new here


i got this new xeon e3110 and mushkin ram to go with my maximus and i cant overclock this thing. i dont really know much about ocing. can anyone help me? i wanted to get 4 ghz but i cant even get 3.6 ghz and i have been trying for 2 weeks. i am using bios 1004. should i get newer bios?

what cooling are you using? ive got a ss phase on my cpu. perhaps that is what accounting for higher cpu. also im on maximus formula... though i flashed to rampage for higher fsb. just ran a quick test tonight.

I am using TEC cooling at 4.7ghz my cpu will hit 20c benching load 25c prime load. deos the high pll voltage set it up so you dont need so much cpu voltage??

For everyday use and what not... no, I don't notice anything different.

If I were to bench my system then yes I would notice a difference as I used tighter subtimings with my crucials since they were a very nice set of D9's.

I like mine a lot and I'm going to run 2x2 until 4x2 becomes more popular and prevalent.

That's what I expect also since I don't really think there are any advantages besides benching (well it's just 4GB of memory anyway ). I can run my Q6600 just fine at 3.5 Ghz, 3.6Ghz is not stable with OCCT but I can still use it daily without any problems. I coulnd't pass the test because my temps are too high and I think that's the only reason, guess I'll just keep 4 Crucial sticks for now as they still serve me just fine and I definitely love the LED on them.

Hi guys, I got the P5E deluxe X48 and i have been trying to flash bios with USB drive and AFUDOS ES and it wont work i type command in dos promt and it says cant open rom file i have tried several bios from Rampage and no go?? tried fat fat 32 different usb slots, I thought this was easy but not for my board. the bios im am running now is P5E0105.rom.

Yes, that did it. I didn't install anything but obviously something came off the CD and fixed the problem. Curiosity--does anyone know what device this is related to, what the driver is, etc???

Confirmed that the ATK driver was added to the system today at around the time I put the CD in the tray and retracted the tray into the computer. Very strange that it automatically loaded this driver.

well if you followed the steps then it would work

rapidshare works for me, but if your trying to flash to Rampage then why are you looking for 1004 bios?

Hi Grnfinger, I read many of your posts in this topic yesterday and wanted to say thanks for the overclocking tips on the q6600. Rapidshare is telling me that my ip is currently downloading a file and I need to wait I wanted the 1004 bios to make sure that ezflasher is even working. I purchased this motherboard for raid, which is running wonderful. A great overclock is just icing on the cake

Im going to run prime on these current clocks I have a feeling I have some room but will hit the fsb wall with out a reflash, this is why I wanted the 1004 bios. So do you have a link for me please.

i switched to phase change now.

just playing w/ e8500's exclusively pretty much. way more fun @ 5ghz vs 4ghz quad.
getting another new one later in the week. hopefully can push the new one higher than my current one.

i thought they were going to send me a pos abused mobo from rma... seems they sent me a real gem.
