    4850 overclocking beyond 700/1200...

What programs out there support the 4850, I have reached the max that CCC allows:

I was thinking about toying around with profiles files, where you can clearly set the fan mode/speed and frequencies for 2D and 3D. Though i ahevn't tried it...

Create a profile with Overdrive settings in it and go to:
    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE

Select that profile and edit it with Notepad. I've tried the fan settings and they work. Haven't tried the clocks though... 700/2300 is enough for me on stock heatsink...

Dang you got 1200 memory? I can bench at that but there are artifacts
Yes I tried editing profiles, doesn't work for clock speeds.

Yeah though they are sitting under an Accerlero S1 with a 120mm fan blowing down on the ramsinks.

As for read the forums, there are pages and pages of discussion and searching did not come up with much..... So how have people done it? Raw bios flashing?

IIRC mine easily did 1200Mhz too but since I don't run AC in my small PC room it overheated after a while, even with screaming fan.

Yes, ppl modding BIOS beyond 700.

pencil modding is pretty easy...but you can get 1.2v with a simple bios flash and that would allow you to go to 720-750

ohh ok, and will an S1 cooler be good enough or will I have to get something stronger like a vf1000 or watercooling?

I actually have a 6600gt right now, so I had no reason to mod my card until now since it wouldn't make a difference anyways, so still new to modding

So, can the stock fan be decent for overclocking once you turn the fan speed up in the config, or can the stock cooler fan even be turned up at all with the config file?

That almost felt too easy... Alas, I have flashed like 20 times today, I'm going to stay at this setting until some software overclocking comes out.

I managed to reach 750/1150 myself. The mem did overheat eventually at 1200 so I cut back a little.
