Two 45nm cores, finally available. Going to try to push past 4.0 during the week. Damned hardware failures have kept me from crunching for a couple of months. Must make up for lost time.

Yea, agreed, BUT you write this down in a place where you won't lose it.
There will come the day when you login to the WCG team page it will say XtremeSystems at #1.
That you can take to the bank.
It will happen with some new people, some older guys coming back and some new technology.

    And your my friend?
Why don't you just paint a bullseye on my back and hand out the guns and get it over with!
I'm upset with you cause you're telling me not to get a Yorkie. Sure, its' easy to tell me that when you're running two Harrys. You got yours'... And, here I just want one measly 9550 to keep me occupied til Nehalem.

Besides if they focus on you maybe they won't see me. Trust me, I know what it is like to have a big bullseye on your back. I have my friend from the north of me bearing down on me like a ton of bricks. And then there are others; some of whom I'll be able to hold off, one of whom I most definitely won't.

So don't think you're alone with a bullseye. About the only one who is safe from that, at least from other teammembers, is Victor. Unless we have people with some major ( I'm talking monstrous, here ) delusions of grandeur! ...

    Anywhoo, luv ya Dave.

    That's why I want a 9550. I'm thinking 8.5 times 450, maybe 460. Would 475 be possible?

Ok, Go buy a Yorkie, that 9550 from you know who..It's a good deal and you have the boards there to try it in.

8.5x475 is 4038mhz.. You planning on buying a water cooling setup for that or do you think that 4000mhz yorkie is going to run nicely in that sauna you call home?

I have it at 472, I might be able be able to do 475-477 rock stable, but I can actually boot all the way up to 489 into windows and run benchmarks. Something limits it though because its impossible to get blend to run at that setting with increased voltages or anything. Its as annoying as getting a phenom small fft's stable at 3ghz and then its impossible to do blend because the motherboard hates you.
Not much to say right now.

Oh, like those 8 Clover cores, sitting 3' from my left hand, running at 75-80C won't? It is nice in here. Temp set at 80F, reading 82F. Just called the temperature phoneline. It is 9:32 PM and 98 degrees, still.... ( SoaB! It was a hot day here! )

Anywhoo, what is one more overclocked quad gonna do? Make life unbearable? ...?

A friend of mine was over yesterday.
He was like "why don't you get that ceiling fan fixed?"
I was like "It works, I just forget to turn it on". I probably haven't had it on in over a year.
Anywhoo, it has been on since. It is nice to have some air movement in here. Feels cooler. Plus, it helps if I have a "plume" moment...

Speaking of quads, I'm FINALLY getting my old motherboard back from warranty after 4 bloody months (with a free "upgrade" from a 680i to a 780i), so I'll hopefully be getting another rig up and running within the next 2 weeks. Probably stick my B3 on the 780i and a G0 in my main rig.
