If you have these issues make a ghost then of ya C drive... I always do thatafter have some corruption isses with X38 and 780i

Why not ditch ya raptor Iboomalot and try a regular Hd for ya install, some peeps are reporting issues with the raptors and Asus P45... Will test this this week if all is okay here...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

I must be one of the few satisfied customers here. I think people need to stop expecting the world from these motherboards. How much did you pay for it? I could have never hit 450FSB|PL7|1.26V NB on my x38 and it would have been a nightmare to try on my DFI x48. I think the P5Q is a solid DDR2 board that performs very well for only being a month old and costing ~$200.

As for the Raptor drives. I've been running four of them, 1 OS & 3 in RAID0, on my P5Q since buying the board and have had little issue.

Pretty happy camper here too... pretty hard to compare this mobo with a previous chipset and surely not the DFI guys that have tweaks galore...but it's shaping up pretty nicely thx to the hard work of Pmp and Co...
Thx for the feedback on the Raptors Touge... will hook up my drive this week to test also...

Well everyone's use is different I guess. I usually expect to do a ton of testing with any new HW and keep another 2 solid machines for work/play. So I expect to thrash the OS in testing. If you need to use the thing right away as your primary machine I can see why you might bail, but I don't see why you would go for a brand new chipset for that purpose.

FYI If you decide to bail, P35 is an awesome chipset and I haven't seen anything that can beat it yet, especially for dual core. 500 fsb stable for 24/7 is a breeze with e8400.

I still have high hopes for P45. I really think it will turn the corner and prove to be the king.

    Good luck guys!

My new psu just been coming for me this days...
absolutely this mobo comes with the older bios, and i will flash it...
what is the best bios, for now?
    another question is:
The problem with the PL, is occurring only with p5q deluxe, or is occurring with all mobos p45?

    I can confirm high PL's of 11 & 13 on my P5E-VM HDMI.

its a memory problem not my raptor

I start testing and it fails quickly and this is at stock 1066 speeds

444 FSB at 1066 ram barely stable enough to hold windows 533 FSB won't completely load windows

single stick does well at lower FSB and 533 is semi stable.

CPU goes to 4 -4.1 before getting nasty.

My 975 mobo was getting old.

What sucks is no e8600 is avil so I changed to a mobo which should have been stable at normal OCs.

My 975 mobo had quirks but liveable vs no dual channel

So far I have RMAed two sets of ram not the mobo so its not like Iam not giving it a chance to mature and if I have to switch or
just use 1 stick until fall when I changing to the new platform

Iboomalot even when you run the CPU at stock speeds and ram at 1066Mhz (every other setting besides Vcore and Vdimm set to appropriate values) it doesn't post with 2 sticks ? or is not stable... Plz fill in the template to have a look at your settings as we are getting nowhere with these posts...

    http://users.pandora.be/OAP/P5QDlx/P5Q%20Dlx.rtf

And plz list ya correct hardware in ya signature... I thought you had Corsair 6400C4 sticks...yet you talk about 1066Mhz stock speed...

If you don't like alpha or beta biosses Raptor go with the official 0704 then... good luck on the build, get to know the board at first before you start OC'ing... it's very sensitive on some voltages... keep us informed...

it's very sensitive on some voltages??
This means that if I do not take care of some voltages, I am damaging the mobo?
tells me what are these sensitive voltages plz!
    thanks

eg CPU GTL voltages can be tricky to setup... From AUTO put them at the normal level and then start to tweak... sometimes a good OC will not post after some settings... therefore write everything down and do ONE change at a time till you get the hang of it...

Also AUTO voltages can seriousy overvolt... but it will help you to post... eg leave everything besides CPU and Ram voltage at Auto... set ya OC, boot, go into bios... change CPU PLL voltage to 1.52 (not 1.5 as it is NOT 1.5) try to post again... go into windows and do some tests, if all okay leave it at this setting, if not stable up the same value a bit more... if all is fine reboot go into bios and go with FSB Term voltage next , then NB voltage... till you got your desired OC...

Just take it slow and write everything what works and what not...

Are you talking to set 1.52v for the PPL because of that table that jVIDIA posted, correct?
But does that table also applies to the bios 0704?
and this overvolt occurs in the same way in all mobos?

It doesn't always mean that's it the same for all mobo's but it is known on several Asus mobo's that AUTO and the lowest setting possbile in the bios are the same and can be a value too high for what is required... it's just nice to know that the ram overvolts a bit (common with Asus) so if you need 2.2 set 2.12 or such... Each board/RMA/CPU/PSU combo is different so we can only give you some guidelines , the rest is up to you sir... Pm me if you need more answers or suggestions plz

I dont think there really needs to be any worrying about memory performance on this board, I can run PL 8 at 400fsb and 9 at 500fsb. Even though they are quite high (i could run PL7 at 500fsb on P35), I get better bandwidth out of this board then my P35. The only thing thats better on my P35 is memory latency but thats not far off at all and im sure it will get better with later bioses. Still tweaking for 24/7 optimal setup but will post results once i do.

Should I get this board or the formula 2? I lost my two motherboards in a storm and don't want Gigabyte any more but, am confused as to which one to buy. I am going to be putting my 9450 in it and also a Silverstone Decathalon 750w modular and 2gb x 2 G-Skill ddr2 1066 and 8800gts 512 three drives in raid 0.. Please give me some advice thank you for it ahead of time.
