Pande came back and said those numbers were exaggerated in Tom's article... so I don't know whether I'd trust the 163 times comment... but the new gpu2 definitely kicks the quads butt...

remember also the cpu wu's work with a lot more atoms.
for example:
a smp wu 2665 works with 14170 atoms...
a gpu wu 5001 works with 576 atoms...

so it's hard to compare them equally..

Sooo true. I'm waiting to see if the pointage holds this same line in the weeks to come, or if we'll see some adjustments by PG.

Regardless, team whoopass is doing just that, and even though our teams will probably be overtaken, the project is benefiting as a result.
