Motherboard now striped out of old case and the required water blocks (CPU and GPU) now reclaimed, along with 2nd D5 pump.

Have also opted to swap my Nexos Extreme triple rad with a Black Ice 360 GT Xtreme (another thing on order) I don't tend to go for quiet cooling over extreme, so opted for the Xtreme over Thermochill.

Mini-reservoirs looking good, and twin temp displays now mounted in case, will post some pictures tomorrow when I've also mounted the waterblocks on the mosfets,sb and nb.

Here are the blocks that I will be using.

Storm 4 CPU
EK: GPU - NB - SB -Mosfet

Board pre-removal of stock cooling


Board with stock cooling removed


Board with new waterblockes fitted


LCD Temperature displays mounted

Dual reservoirs fitted together.


My method of cleaning out and leak testing the barbs, all items are tested this way before fitting onto board or into case.

Here is the fill ports fitted into the top, when cover one these can't be seen.



Position of pumps, these have been moved from originally planned location as they interfered with the components (mainly GPU)



Close-up of the tubing, I'm using dark and bright UV orange primochill coils for the two different loops.



Heres a view of what it looks like so far.
The radiator has turned up, so that will need to be painted, I've also started to rub the side panel down ready for painting as well.



Just waiting for some more darker orange UV coils to turn up, then I can add the final tubes (when second radiator is fitted.

And as I'm typing this, I've just realised that so far I haven't fitted the temperature probes, so will look at that now.

Off working for two days, so hopefully by the time I'm back, the coils will be here and I can finish this case off.

Is that a Sunbeam fan contoller? If so, you can reverse the lights so the green LEDs come on first and switch to red at full speed. Also, if you do the resistor mod to them you can get the red to look almost orange, in addition to make them A LOT LESS BRIGHT.

The case does look amazing. You do great work.

It is a sunbeam, so that advise is certainly appreciated, these LEDs start red and go blue, so I will certainly look for the mod and do it when I find it, if you have a link 'please post' the blue leds wouldn't have been an ideal solution.

Edit: Have found the mod, I already have some variable resistors, so will do it with the reverse trick on the leds as well.

Here's a great guide with pics and everything. Shows before and after pics using 22k ohm resistors. I used the same ones. To reverse the lights, all you do is turn the pins around. Bending them the opposite direction will do the trick.

FYI, take the entire contoller apart before you start. Makes getting the LEDs in and out MUCH easier. I figured this out while trying to put those damn things back in. All in all, should only take you 30-45min total.

You really need to change that mobo into DFI's DK...it would TOTALLY work with the colors!

I did think about that, but I'm saving funds 'sort of' for the next gen chipset boards and CPU which should be here end of the year'ish.

All my parts have turned up, its just a shame I'm 200 miles away from them in a hotel, so can't do any more work.

Tomorrow night the radiator will be sprayed and then Thursday the pipe will be finished.

Looking for a finish of the project this weekend.

Fianlly got around to finishing the case off over the weekend.

I didn't get time to stop and take pictures as I went, as I just wanted to get it up and running again.

Here it is running.



I'm awaiting some replacement SATA cables, and will do a final tidy on the cables on the inside soon.

At least this shows the general effect that it has.





My office where its located has been very warm the last few days, but the loop temps are running about 30 and 32'C the hotter being the chipset loop with the smaller and cheaper radiator in it.
