yup. It sounds like a new version of RBE will be released very shortly though...allowing fan control as well as clock changes. That's much easier than editing the hex tables....staring at all those values gives me a headache.

Hehehe but you have a nice table there buddy, let say you have successfully OC your card in hard mode RBE is the easiest way, but if the release won't up this evening, I'll try your trickstaring at all those values gives me a headache
VF900 certainly does work with this card, i'm running the ZV9 (the silver/red version) on mine.
With fan at lowest (silent) idle temps are ~50C, load temps ~85C (stock cooler was giving me 82C idle, 92C load).
If you crank the fan up to about half way on the VF900/FC-ZV9 then load temps come down to ~70C, maxed out fan (noisy as hell!) will give you high 50's/low 60C's.
The Accelero S1 will prolly give you better temps with a 120mm strapped to it, but I didn't have the space to squeeze one in.
RBE doesn't display anything here, in Vista Business x86... what am I doing wrong?
^lol.
it works fine for me..I'm on Server 2008 64bit

Hi I have a problem regarding the RBE latest version. I set the fan into default settings and it shows on GPU-Z 50% fan speedand it drops my temps from 72deg to 61deg , my problem is it underclock my GPU Clock into 500Mhz but the Default Clock remains 625 Mhz with same Memory 993Mhz I think. Is this normal? Sorry I can't provide screenshot still here @ the office Anyways, I revert my default BIOS and still waitin' for your answers

Does it stay at 500 when you give 3d work load?
E7200 @ 4.0ghz 1.29vcore

OCZ 4gb @ 5-4-4-12 846mhz
Hmm Im not sure buddy, But Im pretty sure when you check on GPU-Z under Graphics Card Tab at the botton you can see this following:
Using RBE with 50% FanSpeed (I used the Set all fan settings to recommended values that's why came up 50% FanSpeed)
GPU Clock: 500Mhz Memory:9XXMhz
Default Clock 625 Mhz Memory:9XXMhz
Also on GPU-Z Sensor Tab:
GPU Core Clock: 500Mhz
GPU Memory Clock: 9XXMhz
My Default BIOS
GPU Clock: 625Mhz Memory:9XXMhz
Default Clock 625 Mhz Memory:9XXMhz
Another thing, I don't see anything this kind of tables on my latest RBE
*See attached file with red box
Im using WinXP SP3
Sapphire 4850

Ok, Im downloading the MSI & Visiontek 4850 BIOS here and it looks like both Visiontek & Sapphire have no Uselook up table for the latest version of RBE. MSI have one and not sure on the other brands
My Sapphire 4870 has lookup tables in the latest RBI, just FYI. I set everything to recommended and now the card sounds like a hair drier half the time, but runs a lot cooler
The cooler reminds me of my x1900xt...
core i7 920, gigabyte EX58-UD5, 4870x2
DDC3.2 > PA120.3 > DD4870x2fc > Fuzion v1 > PA120.2 > EK Res
so when can we expect the normal overclock utilities to support 4800 series? Way more easier and safe to overclock on driver level instead of bios flashing.

Not a "normal" tool like RivaTuner but a simple software one at least...
How does a 4850 @ 740/1050 compare to a 4870 @ stock in game performance?
Is it normal for the default memory to be stable at 1100mhz?
I flashed mine with 1.327v core and it didnt seem as stable on the core as when I used 1.158v.
Right now 1.158v 700/1100mhz flash seems to have worked really well. Updated the FAN profile so its idling around 55c now with 45% FAN and kicks up to about 70c under load with 55% FAN. Seems quite solid.

Powercolor use the following HSF on their overclocked 4850's:
http://www.zerotherm.net/eng/product/GX810.asp
It doesn't list the 3800 and 4800 series as being compatible, but they are used on both Powercolor and Club 3D cards.
Maybe send an E mail to Zerotherm if you need to ask about compatability, but the coolers are very good - 3850s run at 70 degrees under full load at 775 Mhz, I'll get my 4850's soon to play with.
I think the best solution is to just buy a card with one of these on it. No furthur modding required, just install it and start overclocking =D
I wanted to put my Zerotherm cooler on my 4850 Sonic but Palit put the freaking warranty sticker on one of the screws. It's not a big deal because the Sonic's heatpipe cooler is already so much better than the stock one. The Sonic's stock clocks are 685/1000 iirc and I tried Auto-Tune in CCC just for the heck of it and it set the clocks at 720/1040.
