if your bios is not saving settings, you didn't perform the flash procedure correctly.

    1) Enter bios and Press F5 to set defaults. Save and exit.
    2) Flash using AWDFlash from USB or floppy boot drive, not in windows or using EZFlash2
    3) When it has flashed to 1305, it will shut down.
    4) Press the Clear CMOS button, shut off board power, remove power cord, cycle power button a few times. If inclined, remove the battery 3 to 5 minutes and cycle power button 3 to 4 times, though this shouldn't be required.
    5) Plug in power. Power switch to on. Start to bios.
    6) Enter bios. Do not change anything. Save and exit.
    6) Enter the bios. Change settings and save and exit.

Per memory settings. It will show you the SPD table. You can still use your old (previous) memory settings, as the board may not detect the ram correctly, based upon FSB and memory freq which one selects.
Best bet is to run Mem freq at linked and sync'd for best bandwidth - lowest latency.

4500 may be attainable, but I am coming to the thought that it may not be the CPU's which are unstable at 4500, but the sys bus more than 500 (2000). Being able to use a 10x or higher multi might be able to achieve stability.

So is the Striker 2 Extreme worth getting? I'm going to get a Q9450 and want to at least see 3.4-3.5 Ghz with it using two of the new GTX 280 video cards - I'm trying to get Flight Sim X to run as close to 30 fps at 2560x1600...... I plan to water cool the CPU and use the boards own watercooling adapter. Are those 1/2 inch barbs on the northbridge?

Why u need to set SLI ram = enable when u are already a overclocker?
You should put everything under your control. Right?
    4.4G on Q6600 really rocks~
I agree that 1305 is quite a good bios release. But it add/remove some settings (e.g. memory timings) which leads user unable to use the old saved OC profiles. Also behaviour/response of every voltage of the mobo is different since I updated to 1305.

P.S. anyone know what's the meaning of the option ABOVE sli-ready ram? Is that related to nForce mobo chipset?

Well, I have come to the conclusion that increasing my 3DMark06 score will have to wait until I buy a new CPU. I tried tonight, and though I could beat my old fps on the opening scene (previous 145 fps, though tonight got to 149), I guess when I was burning in, a couple weeks ago (at 4500 MHz), new AS5 and watched the core temps (on real temp) go to 102c before I shut down the burn, I did damage to one of the cores. My machine still runs very well, but the one core heats up 10 to 15c above the other when running 4500 MHz plus, and this causes 3DMark to crash. 'Tis a fine line on air...

Actually, I've been off work since Feb, so I am a bit low on free cash. I am going back to work beginning July, so in August I will be building a new liquid refreshed rig with my second SIIF board.

    TJ07 Modded and powdered.
    SIIF
    Q Something CPU
    EnzoTech CPU Block
EK Blocks (Might get a custom duel set block milled to allow triple SLI
    2 Loops
    Custom Res's
    Koolance Pumps
Tri-SLI (280s perhaps, will see how the 9900GTXs perform)
    Raid SSDs
    You get the picture

THEN, I will beat this 3DMark score for sure

Overclocking seems wonderful, but i wonder how many fps you actually get in real games. Like Crysis. Since that's the most demanding game out. Anyone have a before and after with there super rig. I'm new to this, and wonder how much overclocking can really help.

yep still no diffrent try'd @2.4-3.0-3.6-4.0 but its still around the 60-70, more volts? its @ 2.2 for 1200mhz 5-4-4-10

yeah lol it does make a diffrence in games but not in crysys as its a poorly coded game.
I had to install 3 patches to get it working and i get more fps with one card than two, it can also depend on what you are overclocking

    (OVERCLOCKING)
as Rodney Reynolds said "something for nothing" 2.4Ghz cpu running @ 3.0Ghz thats a big boost.

They have re-written their code for the next one (Crysis), and apparently you can run it at highest settings on a laptop... yes it was poorly written, but it is a great test because it was poorly coded

with games you can get an incress of anything from 10 to 100fps all depends on the game and settings

just so you can see the diffrence 3dmark06 is an bench based on fps score

heres mine @ stock 2.4ghz and ram 533mhz

    12937 3dmarks

and heres with my highest stable overclock

    USB boot

I thought the striker ii formula could boot USB but I don't see anything in the bios (rev 1101) that'll let me do it. Is it possible?

    nVidia Mediashield RAID

I was under the impression that the raid controller on this chipset was true hardware raid. Since you have to install OS drivers for it that implies it isn't, right? I've looked around for documentation on this and can't find anything yet. Maybe I just assumed it was true hardware for no good reason. Am I just looking at this all wrong?
