F@H core never uses more then 1-2% of one of my cores. Is my 8600GT too weak to pull more? lol

If you are all getting lower CPU utilization with slower CPUs, then why does the GPU client take 1 core for itself?

Same here but on my bro's Vista rig it says it uses under 10% of a CPU core(which I know is bs). Maybe its a Vista thing?

Are you Nvidia guys making sure your GPUs switch to 3D clock speeds when you use F@H? If you're folding in 2D mode you will get relatively low PPD.

they're at the bottom of this page http://fah-web.stanford.edu/psummary.html

plus just look at all labeled GROGPU2 for all the gpu2 wu's...

edit: just read the fine print at the bottom

G80/G92 don't even have a 2D mode, they only run in 3D (that's why they eat too much power when idle). Only the new GT200 cards have multiple modes, but they should be running a full speed with the FAH client.

Ok, I just tried in vain to install 177.35 on XP x64. Installer runs through very fast (like 3 seconds), that's too fast even for my 15k SAS drive. No screen flickers or similar. It does say install complete, but after a reboot it shows no installed driver. HW acceleration is down etc, what a crap.

Might give 177.39 a try but it sure seems like the 174.55 is the only one working on XP, be it 32 or 64bits.

I was back at stock clocks when I copy+pasted that.

Anyways, reinstalled 177.35 driver and gpu client and it's going fine now.

Hmmm, my PPD was in the 8K range, now it says 5800ish...

Did something change in the past 3 or 4 days?

Ive been doing a whole bunch of these big 479 point WU's. I used to run only the small 90 some ones. Those things took 15 mins, these are taking almost 2 hours!
