Yeah definitely, mine is running stable at 4ghz (500*8) at 1,4V. The thing is that its 3,8ghz stable at 1.26V so it seems like you need to upper the juice to 1.4V+ to get it stable at 4ghz.

When it comes to overclocking its alot about trail and error my friend, so increase the speed stepwise and you will notice when it becomes unstable.

If I were you I would turn up the vcore to 1,25-1,28V then just upper the speed to around 3-3.2ghz. If its stable go ahead increase the speed more and see when it becomes unstable. Just remember to increase the power to the NB, memmory and so on so you know for sure that its the cpu thats making it unstable. I assume that you have a motherboard capable of a fsb of 400.

As I wrote earlier it seems like you can reach 3.5-3.8 ghz with a vcore of 1.26-1.3 which shouldnt be a problem for a stock cooler. Im using a Tuniq Tower cooler which is turned down to minimum fanspeed and my temperatures are ~40 idle and ~70 load.

I've got a DFI X38 dark. I'm just hoping for a 3.0. I think I should hit that just fine today.

aim for 3.8 these cpu's can do 3.8 with relative ease, just getting to 4ghz and beyond the voltage rises dramatically.
