Now I know why ORBR was disappointed in the GT200 before NDA was lifted.
But I will wait for 4870X2 results before deciding between AMD or Nvidia

Well, we will see the real GTX 280 performance in July, not right now.

Here's to hoping it will be $599 by then

We can't expect miracles from the drivers. 10% difference will be like a gift from the sky . I really want to see more comparison tests between 4870 and GTX 280 or even 260, cause we know that the difference between the last two is around 15-20%.

Wow, if those CF numbers are legit, thats quite impressive and with a Phenom too. Can't wait to see how 2 overclocked 1GB 4870s do. I see DX9 tweaked very high at 1920x1200 with AA as being playable with a pair of those As long as crossfire consistently scales, I'm going ATI this round.

There were some men, who constantly claimed, that RV770 is the new R300 and GT200 the new NV30 for nvidia. Is that possible to happen at all?

Looks the same ... the FPS is good I agree, but nothing special about the quality...

Its not that bad for Nvidia, but ATI shure will gain some marketshare.

Oh, it is. If the card that costs around 200$ beats nvidia's ultra mega hyper high end card, try to imagine what will do the x2 card...

Fast as 9800gtx on a 24"?

In your opinion will the HD4870 be worth stepping up from a 8800gtx on a 24"?
It should be 10% faster and with better AA and AF capabilities and after selling your card and buying the new one you will have some money to celebrate the change . But if that what we see 4850 does with games, that are not Crysis and Lost Planet, nvidia will have big problems.

@w0mbat send a big "thank you" to your friend . This info is maybe the first in the world, so many fanATIcs will sleep good this night, so do I .
P.S. We will be grateful to receive some info how GTX 280 performs in the same games, suck as GRID's info for GTX 280 .

Sry, but for a shame that's standard and default for 3dmark06 .
