Again, G92b is still G92. They aren't pulling a rabbit out of the hat with this, its merely a shrink to compete with ATi with higher clocks. The GT200 series will still lead the way as far as new titles are concerned and I don't see Nvidia jeopardizing these new cards at this point. At the end of the day the 280/260 will be the high res / IQ cards to have not the 9900 series. The 9 series are aimed at the mainstream like 88GT/GTS and will be priced accordingly.

The fury strikes fear into the the hardest troll.
According to that guy any card that can't "handel crysis" is old and forgotten. I guess that's a fairwell to GTX260, 280, HD4850, 4870, and 4870X2 then!
Hmm, always the possibility of a change in strategy though. Recently they seem to be basing their moves far too much on what's coming out of the ATI camp.
TJ07 | Corsair HX1000W | Gigabyte EX58 Extreme | i7 930 @ 4ghz | Ek Supreme | Thermochill PA 120.3 | Laing DDC 12v w/ mod plexi top | 3x2gb Corsair 1600mhz | GTX 680 | Raid 0 300gb Velociraptor x 2 | Razer Lachesis & Lycosa | Win7 HP x64 | fluffy dice.
Because there is actually something coming out of the ATI camp this time roundThe R500 and early R600 were cowdung compared to Nvidia's parts
The only thing they excelled in was price/performance and even there Nvidia caught up with them.
This time around the 4850 and 4870 will try to get closer to the Nvidia high ends than ever before.

well thats why i have said, if the keep there strategy.
noone knows what will happen the next 2-3 months.
Why do I have to scroll through pages of unnecessary information, and speculation, and this and that. If you put all the relevant posts, you would get 2-3 pages at the most.
Sometimes I really wonder why I'm reading forums, it's so brain deadening.
Glad I'm not posting on forums any more except for here and there a post.

uhm... its a speculation thread in the first place.... maybe has something to do with the fact that the cards arn't released yet...
This thread will be done in 1-2 days anyway, with a new sticky for all reviews. Honestly, it's just not worth taking the time to clean it when it's time is almost totally served it's purpose and has reached EOL.
I see the logic.
Reviews incoming Monday morning per Kyle of hardocp... I assume we'll see it everywhere as they won't publish a review until NDA is up:

hohoho the pczilla slides... i like how they skip AF to let the the radeons shin.
enable 16AF (or even 8AF) and you see some more realisitc scores.
The lastest ATI chips have always been limited by something in their architecture that prevents them to show their full potential in shading perfomance. And that bottleneck is texture perfomance. R580, R600 and its derivatives have suffered it and now RV770 will also suffer the same issue. In ideal scenarios their shader perfomance just kills every NV offer. But in actual scenarios like games or even Futuremark benchmarks they show their weakness. 3DMark06 is good for ATI, but it's far from being ideal. Should I wait 2-3 years to fully utilize my card's shaders? Or this card's shaders? That's the reason I don't like ATI's huge shading power, in actual games is not utilized at all. NV's solution is much more focused in today's games and in consecuence much more "optimized" if you want to call it like that.
Also, this card has the same SP design of the last generation G80/G92, just more of them, plus the working MUL, so if the card is well balanced like its predecessors it should scale a lot more linearly, like G80/G92 do.
The jump between DX9 and DX10 in Crysis is big, very big indeed, just like before. Nothing new here, I don't see what are you talking about. Playing in DX10 is a bad decision in almost every game out there.
And I never trust in magic drivers, if after 1 month the card has not shown its full potential it's just because it's not there. That said, I will give this card 1 month to show its teeth or I will remain disappointed![]()

[H] uses real world game conditions with high IQ and playability settings something I find useful as I don't care about benching but real world game fps/iq. Keep it coming [H].
OK from above benchies at where my card is lacking is Crysis , Im looking at about 10fps increase for $650, maybe a price drop would tempt me as it stands refresh is not a long wait.

Yeah very interesting as the gains reported in Crysis thus far don't seem to be inline with the improvements in many other games. Makes you think that the GT280 is bottlenecked in one area that Crysis thrives upon.
