    this is a pic of a pen... a pen that supports my 6600gt, without it ... it won't make contact in the slot ... and causes random lock ups... even still...

    I finally got some time to try to mount the Arctic Cooling Xtreme 2900 cooler on my Gigabyte HD 3850. It took some cutting in both the card and cooler, but now it sits there. And it works dang good!





    With 1.5v I get 1GHz on the core, and a load temp not exceeding 48C.


    The cooler is very quiet at max speed, it simply works amazingly well!
    I did put a res. for protection, miscalculated and got a max 1.5volts. I will bridge over that and se what 1.6volts can do.

    Not really cut, but I drilled out the mountingholes a bit more.

    furmark maxed out 8aa 16af

    fan @ max: 24°C idle (160/500) 31-32°C load (740/1075)

    fan @ normal gives 3-5°C higher load.

    before stockcooler (made my own auto fan profile) 55°C idle fan @ 25% load 75°C fan @ 55%
