Will changing the stock TIM void the gigabyte warranty? I've checked Gigabytes site and searched here and couldn't find anything. Also, is it even worth it, is the stock TIM pretty good or what?
I just lost the Asus P5B-Plus mentioned below and replaced it with a GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS4 and I'm wondering if I will have any problems with the components listed below. I've got the board but haven't assembled it yet, so if something sticks out I would greatly appreciate a heads up.

hy guys ... can buy an E8400 Q807A367 / E27439-001 ... what is ur experience with this batch? Is it overclockable?
is it me or does the p35-ds3r not show the NB and SB voltages in hwmonitor and everest? well for everest i have to go through heaps of pages to get to it. i was hoping to be able to see the voltage in the sensors page

I have DQ6, but same issue, there is no way to monitor NB/SB voltages. Everest will show the default voltages, and you have to add on what you set in the bios from that and assume that is correct...but that is a far cry from the ability to monitor.
By the way, I had a weird issue with 8B bios for P35 DQ6, my vcore would not increase, when I increased it in the bios. ? some bug, when they flipped the position of the overclocking section. Vcore set to 1.356 bios read 1.33 cpuz, which is normal. I tried increasing all the way to 1.425 in bios, still read 1.33 cpuz. With f7, 1.425 in bios gives 1.39 cpuz. Had to switch back to f7.
well i hope this is the last time i buy a gigabyte....i dont like the bios

Same issue with me with bios F8B.Increasing voltage in bios, but in windows still same voltage and CPU fan sometime stop.
Back to bios F8A which is quite good.
OK guys, just received new bios for P35-DQ6 from Taiwan. Will try.

Will the beta BIOS fix this problem? My P35-DS4 rev2.0 has the same problem and if any DQ6 BIOS gets to fix that, I'd like to give it a try. Currently, I must set PCIe freq. at 101MHz to avoid cold boot/BIOS setting clear. Then, like the OP said any time I have vMCH > 0.20v (i.e. 0.225, 0.250, .. , 0.375) the PCIe1 link width will reduce down to 1x. What a pain. FWIW, my memory is set at Turbo mode for much improved latency (can't stand the slowness @ Standard mode).
P35-DQ6-F8C (released 06/06/2008)new link:

Go back to CTRL+F1 to open new panel timing memory(separate in bios-"Advanced chipset features").
Some improvment in Vdrop(minimal),set in bios 1.5V under full load 1.4880V(Everest).

The new beta bios' for Gigabyte boards are to solve the DPC latency issue where the latency is high meaning rubbish performance for real time low latency audio\video software.
There is a bug in them where you cant change vcore though!

Like Stasio said, 8C is back to CTRL F1 to show subtimings, and puts them in another directory all together...which makes it more inefficient for overclocking.
They did fix the voltage bug on 8C. And Millyons I did read your post, unplugging/restarting did not work for my voltage issue with 8B bios, and the failure to raise volts was actual on mine, as evidenced by overclock testing/failing. Also, I have tried every bios since I got DQ6 a year ago, and never had that problem on loadline or not until 8B.
Just the annoying CTRL F1 issue being back and even worse with an additional section, is enough for me to go back to F7. I am thinking that the bios writers for GB are not overclockers.
Hello. Any Q6600 + P35-DS4 users here? I am having trouble running it stable at 400x9, what settings should be set? No memory overclock, I tried F7 and F12.
Got a new beta bios F13e for my P35-DS4 from Gigabyte to solve the DPC latency issue. I havnt found any bugs with this bios, there are no longer any DPC latency issues and it holds my overclock with no problems.
See my post in the E8400 overclocking thread:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...postcount=3312
If anyone would like the bios feel free to PM me.
