Its obvious that P45 is a lot of better than p35. My difference is more than 50Mhz FSB

my E8200 did max. 550FSB for SuperPi 1M on P35 Chipset (P5K-E & Foxconn Mars P35) and
556FSB for a validation.

On the P5Q-Deluxe did the same CPU 605FSB for SuperPi 1M and 615FSB for a validation.

I have problems whith pci-e frekfency. 100 work fine, every thing higher non boot. I see in setfsb pci-e is 125(bios 100).

Amasing Result again Venom... any chance to fill in my Template (link below) I could get the QX9650 at 500FSB, but think the 4gb killed it's stability as I needed to run 1:1... Hope to test with my Gskills HZ this weekend which run 1200Mhz too...

I didn't see any xeon's on the supported list although they are just a Q9550 with 2 added instructions . I've been reading about this board for a while and having had nothing but bad experiences with 780i's I decided to go back to an intel chipset .

That's already about 10 mhz higher than the max I've achieved for this chip on other boards and I know it will go higher once I get a chance to spend more time with the board. First impression is, this is a golden board for 45nm quad.

Think the 0702 bios will work with the vanilla P5Q? Asus's site has 0 updates. I ordered one a minute ago and will do some testing. NM pretty sure they wont

Sweet thanks , I can't wait to run my chip on this board . I had it running @456x8.5 24/7 and my latest 780i failed after 5 days making a high pitched squeal and then a sizzling sound lol what a pos ! The cpu seems ok still , the board did boot again at stock settings but it was really unstable .

Were there diff settings available or is that auto performance? Or is it just chipset you think?

Do the MOSFETS on these boards get really hot? I was thinking of getting the PRO model, but it doesn't have any sinks on the FETs.

'fet sinks usually do more harm than good due to poor application and board warping due to poor heatsink installation methods.

Eh, it's overpriced here as well, hence why i didn't say what i paid :\


But i don't have patience sometimes, even though i know it'll likely be much cheaper in a month.
