This 1305 BIOS just passed a 6 hour test of multiple videos.
I guess it's pretty safe to say that this BIOS fixes the corruption problems![]()

ok so it's supposed to fix the dreadful video issue which I also have (not updated bios just yet)
it does not degrade overclockability of any kind I hope? I mean sometimes one must accept compromises "here" and accept improvements "there"

So those guys who tested the 1305 bios, did you test at default clock speeds or OCed?
Because if there was no video issues when the chip is OCed, then GREAT
Hopefully next week ill be updating my bios![]()

I always run OC'd at 4050 for everyday use.
I note that it initially gets RAM better now, which will be better for intial new board startup, but when I set manual and let it do ram freq linked auto, it tried to set mine to 1680, so if I set it unlinked and set cpu freq, it sets ram to 1199. I can't get it to boot into win at 1200 MHz ram freq, only 1 mem hole lower, at 1170 MHz. Not a biggie. I have to try my top end OC still, 2040 freq..

my nb is 69 idle and my e8400 @3.6ghz, rams also overclocked that never caused me problem. anything i use about cooling is stock.so the heat isnt a problem with a stock cooling setup
i read the post about your problem
did you test your machine with windows xp 'cause ı had exactly the same problem with vista 64. then changed it to xp 32 (no headaches up to date)

only problem with this bios is that if you have a IDE dvd drive/hard drive you might have problems having IDE enabled in the bios, so im stuck with one less Dvd drive, but i can live with that, and my overclocking is fine everything stable

This bios acted different when it rebooted after the flash. Once it had powered off, I pressed the power switch, and it powered on for a sec and then off. I tried this three times, same thing happened each time. I then pressed the Clear CMOS button for three seconds, turned the PSU power off and then back on, and it powered up fine.
Remember, once you enter the bios first time, don't do anything. Just save and exit. Then when you enter it on the second go, change values as you desire.

So i am at a loss. Since i can't figure out what is wrong i will most likely take it to a shop to have them figure it out. I'm pleased with the new bios from what you all say. But not sure if the Striker 2 is something i wanna stick with. Just to much trouble for me. I might give the XFX MB-N780-ISH9 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI Intel Motherboard a try. Sounds like less issues. I'll decide when the guy tells me whats wrong with my rig.

Any one have a problem with the bios not saving settings? I've been trying to clock my Ram up to stock speeds (800 to 1066) and it wont save.

Hey guys, I'm assembling a new PC and I'm looking for a mobo for my E8400. My first choice was the Striker II, but after reading through this topic, I don't know if I wanna get it anymore. What do you guys think? Should I go for the Striker or get another board? It's gonna be a brand new PC, so I wanna get something that will last at least a year or two.
My specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo 8400
4GB 1066mhz Corsair Dominator (2x2)
Asus GeForce 8800GT TOP 700/2000
Gigabyte Odin All Solid GT 550W
If you do not intend to run SLI now get a P45 based mobo... way cheaper, less hassles, easier overclocks and to me way more reliable then any Nvidia chipset I've seen lately...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved
Remark : They call me Pro AsusSaaya yupp, I agree
