I agree with you on most things.
But...yes, there's a but(t) involved[ just kidding, playing with the words
]
If you don't want to get flamed ( whether we like it or not, there will always be flame-throwing people ) [ sometimes deserved, sometimes not ] you don't say "I will do that" and then come back saying "I can't".
When "you're in the know" and more precisely been working for a magazine/website, the press in general, you already know what you can and what you can't.
Don't tell me that he thought that AMD would let him spill the beans like that ( no matter if he's under NDA directly or indirectly ).
One time is something that can happen to anybody... but doing that several times is like asking for "punishment"
When you have something to say, say it or remain silent.
I have various stuff from time to time, NDA'd or not, if I'm not going/willing/being able to say something I don't say anything at all.
If I ever say something I just say it.
I don't make announcements "I have something, I'm not under NDA, I can say things about it, I'll come back later with info" and then risk/or intentionally "playing the game of 'the know'" come back saying, sorry I can't.
Can we drop it now ?

Why are all the new people calling on him to be banned? Eventually benchmarks will be posted, i know it won't be too long.

Assume nothing; Question everything
it depends on what your looking at, gddr5 has 2 clocks, command clock and write clock, comand clock is typical half of write clock, so a 900mhz command clock is a 1800mhz write clock which is a 3,6gb/s (aka 3600mhz) module.
As said its still the lowest bin, qimonda official doesnt even sell those, so its very strangeto see this...

Why is everyone mad at OBR? If you're going to be angry, direct that anger at AMD/ATI. Boycott their cards. After reading what's happened here, I'm not going to purchase another ATI/AMD product....EVER!
AMD, you treat people like, you'll get it in return.
What are you trying to say exactly? How is AMD at fault?
No company wants NDA broken and AMD is no exception. NDA is there for a reason. Neither OBR nor AMD/ATI have committed any wrong here. The only gripe I have is that OBR led people on promising benchmarks. There are several people on here who have HD 4850s or GTX 280s already and aren't posting anything, and there is nothing wrong with that.
LMAO I seriously hope you're kidding. Nvidia would've done the same thing to prevent people from breaking NDA's in all likelihood
AMD isn't at fault for protecting their products
Apparently you haven't done enough in the world where breaking NDA's and contracts can get you punished from anything from never getting anymore scoops to getting fired to getting sued
What i don't get is why they don't let people give away info on these cards before launch, i mean if they let a card like the 4870X2 get benchmarked and it has a awesome performance, people won't buy the GTX 280/260 that are launching earlier...

If OBR isn't under NDA, then AMD/ATI can go hump a moose. It's too bad for them that someone managed to receive full working samples. If I had the cards and I wasn't under NDA, I would've gave everyone a rundown on how the cards work already. It sounds to me like someone at AMD has threatened OBR or his boss with legal action; if that's the case, then I stick to my original post of not supporting AMD anymore.
no it sounds that he just talked bulland explained it with AMD said "..."
but yeah my 4870X2 works great and without microstuttering because of one shared memory controller and shared memorydont need this slow thing of 4850
oooooh, here is a bit more.
"From AMD RV770 ppt info we got to know that Radeon HD4850 and Radeon HD4870 built in 800SP.
Radeon HD4850 is 625MHz, 800SP and each SP is 2FLOPS, 1000GFLOPS in total. Radeon HD4870 is 725MHz, 800SP and each one is 2FLOPS, 1200GFLOPS in all."
