    EASY TO DO

The real question; ATI found it usefull ?
No it's not as easy as you make it out to be, the shaders are linked to the TMUs and you will need some sophisticated clocking mechanisms to make them work together properly, unless you just build a new architecture with this in mind (like G80 for example).

The 4850 and 4870 will both be announced at the 25th of June, the 4850 will be available in stores as it launches and 4870 probably as well but in lower quantities with full availability planned for Juli. 4870X2 will probably be launched in August.

    wooping 25-27fps.
Yeah, 10fps faster than SLI. It's good, but not great, as nvidia said themselves the difference between the gtx280 and the 8800 series would make the difference from the 7800 to 8800 look like peanuts by comparison.

Well they weren't completely lying, but it's not really 'peanuts' in my book. It does make the difference between 8800GTX and 9800GTX and the difference 9800GTX and GTX280 look like peanuts though .

This too is wrong, why would you have TMUs if they are not doing the texture processing? Maybe you are confusing offloading AA work from RBE's into the shaders, but this is not occurring with TMUs yet.

Its been shown that there is nothing wrong with Ati's AA in and of itself, in fact the hit from just AA is often less than nvidias at the same setting. Its AF that tanks performance. The source below shows this, especially with HQAF which is default for Ati now. If you want old AF you need to use ati tray tools or other progs like that.

thank you for clearing that up, that's what I thought, but by the tone of his posts I thought I and everyone else in this discussion was wrong

...so then compare singel card with singel card, and the step from 7xxx to 8xxx looks like peanuts -> 230% faster then a singel 8800 ultra at that res.

Why do people only care about crysis? Honestly its ONE GAME. A good benchmark, yes, but we already know that people won't be able to play crysis for probably the next year or even two, so get over it. I'm personally more interested in the new games that are coming out, we had a great slew this year (bioshock is a great example of this, I can play 1920*1200 with a 6600gt and still get playable framerates) that don't kill your system

because if a card can run this game well, it can run any game that comes up the next year (maybe even 2)

    Bragging Rights. We're all shallow.
I want to show my brother crysis maxed out and tell him his PS3 has s*** on my pc

btw I thought crysis was a great game (with a crappy spaceship level)
and Crysis has a great modding community

if crysis wasn't your thing you should try some of the community level packs or mods

There's even one for the first sword

Um, actually, there is some confusion here over TMU's, and thier individual components. You guys are speaking in broad terms, I'm talking specifics.

Texture mappingm units include texture filters, texture memory, and a few other elements.

    Texture mapping follows thusly:

    1) Specify the texture. (R, G, B, A, mipmapping)

    2) Indicate how the texture is to be applied to each

    pixel. (decal, modulate, blend)

    3) Enable texture mapping.

Before actual mapping can happen, certain work needs to happen first. I find the fault in a specific area, you guys are clueless spouting acronyms you aren't really aware of.

8 days to launch and still we don't know that much about RV770 n' GT200

There people like ORB that allready have GTX 280, but is info is very incomplete

and doesn't help much do be honest. but i belive that is legit too.

i'm going for the GTX 280 either but i'm getting confused here,

i don't understand what nvidia is hidding so much... there must be something

    bad for so much secret!

G80s launch was also involved in lots of secrets, and it turned out to be a great surprise, although, I must admit, I am not excited at all with these cards launch, I'm more curious about Radeons.
    Are we there yet?

honestly i have a ps3 and i have no clue as to why ppl brag so much on the damn graphics...there are a few games that look "ok" in my book but pc games have alot better graphics than do most ps3 games...i just bought the freakin haze game and it sux for graphics...lol although burnout paradice city looks ok! honestly ppl cant even compare console gaming to pc gaming...honestly crysis has some of the most extremely awesome graphics ever...my friends cant believe the graphics on crysis...they think they are watching a movie that you see on all game comercials when the graphics looks amazing and then the real game sux...lol

The big difference this time I guess is that besides Crysis and select games at extreme settings/resolutions,all other games are easily taken care of by current hardware. I remember when the 8800's were released, they crushed every game and every SLI config easily in a time when having the most extreme setups were required to beat games such as Oblivion and FEAR and so on. Then came a single card that crushed all of that and more. This time though, there's only really one game unplayable at high settings and even then, it still requires multiple GPU's to play it at 2560x1600

estás a repetir o que eu disse sobre a Ati lol

e estás a repetir-te, estás mais curiso em relação à Ati mas estás sempre

em cima do acontecimento nas GT200... i see

it takes four G92 (GX2 quad SLI) to accomplish the same performance in crysis at 1900 x 1200 very high

    2º as you can see GX2 SLI makes 37FPS at 1900 x 1200

    3º we belive that GT200 will do 3.7FPS a 1900 x 1200 very high.

lol at the evga link... looks like something got pulled quick

Also Crysis scaled very poorly with the extra GX2... what's more telling I suppose is 30.7 vs. 37 FPS GX2 to GTX280 at that level
