try it.
I did set Ai Transaction Booster to moderate, with PL 6/7/8 and it does post but kept reboot my system during Windows Vista loading screen. I see a BSOD for a split second but it happen so fast.

I have a new problem though. Even with default settings, my pc kept rebooting now. I can't get into windows anymore. Is this a memory thing or a Windows thing? Windows was running fine though. I guess my next step is to try 2 sticks at a time.

on russian overclockers forum tested 8096 Mb <Mushkin Redline 8000> on Maximus Formula (bios 0907) now. Nice frequency, but PL=11 - may be NB=1.45 don't set way to low PL

Yeah 11 seems a bit excessive. Don't agree with the temp thing though, it looks like 1.25v unless it's a sensor error. All well within Intel spec for temp and voltage. Too hot for me and you yes, but not going to kill the chip earlier then he's going to own it.

@HDPC

Since we all seem to think your issue is a RAM problem. If you are POSTing now you should really break out Memtest86+. Just run Test 5(I think it's like press 1 then 3 then 5, then 0 to continue) it will show errors the fastest. Personally it still sounds like a funky stick, but we won't know until you try one set at a time...

Just thought I'd point out he's running Realtemp 2.60 in the same screenie. It's showing 67C which shouldn't be an issue. MHO anyway.

you enjoy your 67c temps glad you find them ok.
I'll stick to my 26c idle and 48c load temps running 4400MHZ@1.45volts

BETRAYOR Hope you have a good ride there mate... I will never ever go back Nvidia... at last they have found a workaround again for their data corruption issues... stuff like that should be extremely rare...

Good luck mate

Bad Bios checksum

I think my bios is corrupted.

I just removed 2 sticks out of my system, but I am getting the following message at bootup:

Boot Block Compatible Version Ver.024
Please do NOT insert any disc into CD-ROM or Floppy drive
if you want to recovery with an USB device.
Bad BIOS checksum. Starting BIOS Recovery...
Checking for CD-ROM...
CD-ROM not found!
Checking for USB device...

I have my bootable device plugged in but nothing is happening.

After I remove those 2 sticks and put in my other 2 and it worked, as well as my old OCZ.

Can those two sticks be bad?

Thanks,

-hdpc

a couple of weeks ago I flashed to BIOS 1201, which was listed on the official ASUS website as a final version...I just checked again today and BIOS 1201 is listed as a Beta BIOS, while a new BIOS 1102 is listed as the final version

plus the 1102 BIOS has a newer date then the 1201 BIOS...anyone know what the deal is?

Since ambients weren't mentioned...some of us have to deal with 95-100 degree F for extended Summer periods during 24/7 use. If you can get 48C at 100 degree Fahrenheit 100% load, share your secrets please! All i'm saying is 67C 24/7 won't kill his proc.

Folding isn't a game. It's a choice. And Folder's love Winter too. We survive Summer. I have a 3 year old AMD X2-4800 lappy with no cooling alternatives that has survived 3 Summers at 72C. Still running strong. If anything Intel's are more robust. I'm not advocating high temps. The lower the better. Some just have to play the hand they are dealt. The 9450 in my sig hit 74C on a 103F day. And that's with high end water. 80cfm fans on the PA 120.2 and 110 cfm on the DD GTX 240 rev 2 I'll probably upgrade the D-tech Fuzion v1 with a v2 in an effort to get under 70C with ambients maxed.

Nehalem is around the corner. Almost time for multiple upgrades though.

Anyone else have their LCD poster crap out? Mine looks like a cheap wristwatch after you drop it in the sink.

Hello guys I just built a Maximus Formula into my back up rig with an E8400 and some D9 Crucial 1066 and I am having trouble with memory performance or the lack there of, does anybody know the trick to getting 12,000 read and low latency with this board?? I can't seem to do any better than 9,800 or so very dissapointed what am I missing?? Bios 1003

What would be the fastest setting?

9x411= 3,7Ghz
Running ram on tight timings:
4-4-4-12
ai booster strong
perf.lvl. 7
Command rate 1N

or 9x422= 3,8Ghz
But timings must be :
5-5-5-18
ai booster light
perf.lvl. 8
Command rate 2N

Seems like my memory can't handle 844Mhz on tight settings, so wondering if it would still be faster? No time to bench yet.

Why don't you run everest benchmark or sisoft sandra yaself... I think regarding rambandwith & latency n1 will be faster... but never sure unless you post results

you prolly got one bad stick in that pair... time to test them each individually...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

You were right first settings were faster when tested with sandra. Guess I'm gonna have to upgrade to a E8400 or E8500 or some faster ram, if I ever want more.
