Try an auto glass shop or auto parts store. The same stuff is used to install windshields.

not neccessarily. the stuff for auto glass is SOOOOO damn sticky you wouldn't believe it! The stuff that comes with Prommy is EASILY removable and easier to work with. It took me like 30 minutes of painstaking, tedious work to clean up a 9800XT with that sh*t on there with a toothbrush and Alk after removing most of it with toothpicks.

Xtreme Tek Werkz has the official seal string, here. $20 for one roll, $35 for two. Since it's reusable, it should last a long time... I've had a Mach I for a year and have remounted it dozens of times and I'm maybe 20% through the roll.

Thanks for the heads-up, never used it but heard it works.
Guess I won't be trying it now.

Yep, but, print out that page, take it to anywhere that does bathroom supplies (DIY Stuff) and go "gimme some o this" and they should have some, just under a different brand name... it's generic stuff that's existed fer years in the bathroom fitters' trade...

I just found this stuff, so i called them, and i was asking someone who has dealt with it how sticky it was. he said it wasnt very sticky, its more of a "peel-away" typ thing, and if i wanted it to be more adhesive-like, then they have this stuff to use along with it to make it sticky. point is that its not sticky like that other window crap. im gonna give this a shot, at 5 bones a roll, cant go wrong. what do ya think?

Looks like Velum or Purma Puddy.
We use Velum for HVAC duct sealing and Purma Puddy for sealing around access areas and piping on cooler/freezer boxes.
Does dry out over time, but not for a few years.

is there anywhere local i can get some instead of online?

such as lowes? or meijer (for those in the midwest-ish area)?

I have no idea when my seal string will arrive (due to stupid UPS) and would like to push my 3.0 to the max!
