I agree seating the tubes into the 1/2" would be the way to go...I'd love to mill some stuff...but I got a lot of other things on my plate too...

I have been modding this case WAY TOO LONG. I had to go out of town for a couple of weeks and then a lot of weird stuff at the home front kept holding me up but I think I will be able to complete it in another two weeks tops.

Not sure what is going on with the site...it was up last night.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I never met nor spoke with FlyingA2. He literally sent me 6 boxes of about $2000 in gear before I even said hello. On top of that he paid me a retainer without me even asking. Then he told me to do whatever keep me interested in the build.

I've been working in the homes and yachts of extremely wealthy people my whole career...I am responsible for projects where thousands of dollars in materials are often stocked in my shop waiting on timelines...I get to cut into Carpathian Elm Burl bulkheads with a sawzall...not exactly sure why, but people seem to trust me...

    What an Amazing build!

Then again, I've never seen a CD build that wasn't superior in quality.

    Simply amazing.

I have the same question, how much was this mod!?!? Hahaha!!

This is some unbelievable work CD. I can't get over the interesting ideas (pump mounts, creative use of areas for rad's, and most of all, the PSU fan working that one section of the tripple rad on the bottom. I didn't think about doing anything like that before, what a great idea.).

I think this thread is more like that ad:

Price of Rivets: $(okay I have no idea)
    Price of Acrylic: $(sorry)
Price of creating something [fill in superlative here, I just couldn't decide]

Okay, so this isn't the most clever post. (um, yeah!) Might sound weird, but I think I've just run out of ways to gush verbally over this build. Everything's just so....

    ......

    Me too...me too.

I have some 2" tubing and 2" diameter 1/2 spheres and I am completely redesigning and rebuilding the reservoir. Althought the last one was pretty interesting it just had too many minor flaws and is too hard to put together to bother nreplicating exactly.

I feel that my "away time" has been a bit overlong...but after a couple of go arounds with the reservoirs and nothing I can use I decided to take a short break, regroup, and come at from a different direction.

When I have something to show I will overload you with pics.

no clue. I have stopped all other projects...that's the best I can do. I told Flying that no one else gets a CyberDruid build until his is completed. So having effectively shutdown all business until the Cosmos is complete all I can do is git r done so I can move on.

Viper John Kit for the 780i

A little update...GFX conversion with BlastFlow to follow

The stock assembly covers the MOSFETs, Northbridge and Southbridge. IOt actually looks pretty nice...although I have no idea how it performs.

The Central sink covers two chips and uses some sort of grey TIM.

The MOSFET sink uses a fairly thick TIM pad that almost looks like foam tape. You can see the chips on the upper right area in this picture are not fully covered.

Not sure what to whink about this arm that comes over to the Southbridge..it does not appear to be a heatpipe...but I am not taking it apart to find out...

Southbridge TIM distribution seem pretty good.

I don't see anything wrong here either...

The TIM pad left what looks like cat hairs on the chips lol...

The thin sink above the socket uses a strip of silvery grey TIM and seems to only make contact with part of the chips surrounding the socket...probably to comply with the Intel spec real estate around the chip reserved for the stock cooler.

Here is abetter shot of the contact patch on the large sink.

The Viper John Sink is very nice and obviously lapped to perfection

    I am using Akasa TIM

Unfortunately the upper sink provided by Viper John follows the stock profile..and will not cover some of the chips. This is the only area I would like to see improved so far.

Using the hardware from the stock heatsink assembly I mounted the thin sink to check how much it make the board deform.

I think the large sink is as large as it can be..and it does cover the chips.

For the chipset I am using Diamond TIM

Before application I cleaned the surfaces using a lint free paper towel and Artic Clean.

The Viper John waterblock is very nice.

By using little pieces of blue tape I was able to get the block and screws together without FREAKING OUT.

This MCH30 will cool the Southbridge. It will also block two of the three PCIe lanes...but this is not a concern for this build.

With the Diamond TIM more is better. It's nonconductive so any squish onto the surround PCB is no problem.

    And there is a Viper John/CyberDruid LC-conversion 780i.

Very nice CD. Are these Viper John parts available to Canadians and the like? If so, I'm a hafta look into these beauties.

Where are you with the Acrylic reservoirs?

Nice work CD, that statement could have been said by me. Gotta love the expresion on homeowners faces when I pull on the job and the first tool out is a chainsaw! In the winter I cut fallen trees for the woodstove so it's always on top. Why trust me? Darn fools
I was wondering what glue your using for your reseviors, I have done tubular w/ butt joints as you pictured and they held up fine w/ super glue but my latest was a dual bay, dual res, side by side made w/ 1/4" lexan and it developed a leak, after removing it I found the joints to be weak. Any suggestions? am I using the wrong adhesive?

I use a solvent that melts and fuses the polycarbonate together...not really a glue. You apply it with a capillary applicator and let it creep between the surfaces. Check TAP plastics or US plastics

You would have to talk with Viper John and find out about availability.
