i would definitely go for the IP45 Pro...but, that is me....i am not sure that the IP35 Pro XE is really going to bring that much more beyond what the IP35 Pro has done...i could be surprised...i think abit is trying a marketing ploy to extend the life of the IP35 series, which has done well for abit.

LIKE THIS: "The two new offerings from Abit will come with standard 8-phase CPU power regulation"...AND...it appears that the X48 will have 5 phase digital PWM power...i rather have seen 8 phase digital PWM power...oh well.

thanks ace, is the ip45 pro ddr3 or ddr2. i feel the same about the the 35 sieries,i think abit trying to hold on to somthing good they had.

they will have both versions according to the articles...there will be an IP45 (i presume, Pro) which should be ddr2 and then an IP45 GT3, which will be ddr3

I have updated to the 17b04 BIOS from the 16b10. Everything is ok. One thing I have noticed so far is that the memory bandwidth has been slightly increased.

Well now that I've had a chance to play with it, my RAM is happy at 2.275v 1042 MHz running 4-4-4-9-22-3-3-3-3 1T. No Memtest errors at this speed HOWEVER at 3.9GHz, my E8400 will run Orthos for about 22 seconds before farting.
In Memset, is "Performance Level" better with higher or lower values?

Guys please help me fast!
I have bought a Q6600 G0 today and CoolerMaster HyperTX 212 (installed with 2 fans).
Im using bios v17, my Q6600 temp reported 58C@idle !!! at the bios and in uGuru in windows! what the hell is this? is this a bios problem? While coretemp .99 reads all cores around ~35-40 at idle...whats is going on?
Thanks!

I haven't tried many bios for my ip35 pro. I liked 16 for my q6600 so I stuck with it. I don't use uguru so I can't comment on that. But I wouldn't be surprised if certain bios gave faulty readings, it happens.

Thank you, but for sure, are coretemp 0.99 readings (38, 35, 35, 36) for cores are OK? I will try v14 later. thanks.
Not too bad. Tho idle temps mean very little.

Ok, I installed v14 bios and idle temp is now reported at 27C in bios and uGuru which is a massive 30C lower than v17 reading. Thanks all.
i've been running stable at 390x9=3.42 with the DRAM set at 1:1, vcore is at 1.3025(CPUID @ 1.27 idle). it's been fine but when i change the ram timing to 4-4-4-12 @2.1v, it won't seem to run stable, with glitches and random crashes. Bios version V16
Here are my system specs

The ram is rated to run at 4-4-4-12 @2.1 but i can't seem to get it working.
Any suggestions in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

just an update , 8 months with the abit and i am more than happy , one of the best mobos i have had after the DFI LP nf4 series.
it can do 520 fsb on air , 500 24/7 but lowered to 450 cause summer in Greece is hot and my TRUE couldnt cope with the heat (if coretemp was right ofcourse) , low voltz vcore=1.3 , vdimm=1.95 and nb=1.37 . Great mobo i must say

hehe, I kinda figured it was a typo or some other no biggie
Your vdimm is the ram voltage. You're so close to that 400fsb I think you can get it without too much trouble even if you have to loosen the ram timings a little. What are your other voltages in bios like? How are your temps, pay particular attn to pwm temp as well as your cpu cores.

There's a huge review database at newegg for that ram and while overall it looks really good, there is also a portion of people who never really had success with the 4-4-4 timings. If you are going to try and keep pushing upward with the clocks you'll have to nudge some of those voltages upward as well. These are my settings for a q6600 @ 3.6ghz:
vcore:1.4675v
cpu vtt:1.27v
mch:1.37
ich:stock 1.05v
ichio:1.5v
cpu gtl ref:61 and 61
Of course every setup is unique to some degree but that should give some reference for experimenting. You may find that going even higher with the mch will help with those corsair timings, I don't know.
