Running a few tests, I noticed one thing that has improved over my 4GB config.

Everest Memory Copy was reporting 7,831 MB/s with my 4GB of RAM. It was usually a consistant number that didn't vary much on my system.

Everest Memory Copy is now reporting 8,030 MB/s with my 8GB of RAM. I never was able to hit that number before...

    Hi all

Anybody know how to disable Speed Step? I have Intel Speed Step disabled in Bios but I think there is some other setting that I also need to change.

The thing is the RF bios don't have an option to turn off speedstep, which causes problems with the readouts of most analysis programs.

I can confirm that Prime, after 2HR's and 10 minutes of hard labor, has no issues with the 8GB of G.SKILL 's.

With my 424 FSB, my RAM is operating at 846MHz, to give me 3.8252 GHz.

My RAM is rated up to 1000MHz, but I don't think I will ever ask it to run that fast.
I think I am an official G.SKILL 's fan now!

    8GB, 2HR 10min error free run @ 3.8252 GHz.

Well keep us posted, I couldn't get any feedback on mine so I will follow oyur questions and see where it goes. but as for my experience, it did oC too high on FSB. 450 was a challange and if on a divider, the voltages needed to keep it stable were usually higher then I am used to w/ even a Q6600. Although in some multi app cases, it really does shine and w/ little heat.

If and only when at stock or in Auto, simply disable in CPU features. If Overclocking, it is automatically disabled for you as soon as you move FSB up. I personally leave C1E enabled for daily usse. I sometimes (if I remember) disable it for benching. If your system is truely stable, it will be perfectly fine w/ C1E + TM1 mode (ASUS also locks out TM2 mode w/ C1E). Again, that may just be me but I have done it since the !925EX. Others are gonna likey tell you to disable just so you can see a max 24/7 high CPU clock.

I think your explanation is a little complicated so let's just do it the easy way:

    1. Set your cpu ratio to auto
    2. Go to the Advanced CPU Configuration Menu
    3. Set Speedstep (last option) to disabled
    4. Change cpu ratio to whatever you want. Done.

Sorry, I didn't really catch wether or not he (angel_dustis) was overclocking or not. If YES, simply move FSB to anything over stock and EIST is disabled right off the bat no matter what ratio or previous EIST (Speed Step) setting.

    Hey

I know to 100% that my system is stable with 2x1gb ballistix PC8500 ram, but ever since I put in a extra par of ram I still cant get it stable it randomly locks up on load or not any load sometimes. I have uped the vNB from 1.45v(this was stable with 2x1gb ram) to 1.63v now, I crashed on 1.59v before havent tried 1.63v yet but I am worried it wont be stable. NB temp sets arounf 45c full load with 1.63v. The Cpu is a Q9450 btw and I am running 2x 3870 in crossfire. Cpu, NB and both gfx are watercooled.

I am using bios 0403 and this is my settings:

4x1GB will tax the NB harder you will need 1.55 volts or more. Get trfc off auto ( row refresh cycle time) set it to 55 or higher, I would start with 55 and adjust higher till the ram is stable. And I really doubt you will get it stable at 4-4-4-12, 5-5-5-15 would be more realalistic.

4x1GB should run at 1081 5-5-5-15-3-55-6-3 rather nicely.

That's quite possibly the most mis-leading graph I've ever seen.

And there's been some bad ones in the graphics card scene.

nvidia did the chart, so its going to be in there favour. and there using older catylist drivers against there newest so I would take it with a grain of salt yes.

Q9300 OCing stuck at FSB 440

    Hi folks,

I grabbed me a Q9300 M1 SLAWE the other day and retired my E6600 B2.

I am a lil disappointed so far, since I am stuck at FSB 440 (3.3 GHz). However I am not aiming at mad overclocks so much, I can live with 4x3.3 GHz. Still, I wonder if I overlooked something that could help me getting up higher.

FSB 445 leds to rather quick system crashes and 450 doesn't boot anymore, tho it posts and I get to see the BIOS. My chip seems to need 1.3375V to be stable...so I gave it an extra notch

How fast can you run the ram at 3.8GHz?
Have you figured out what you are going to in terms of RAM?

I've been extremely happy with how these Crucial Ballistix 667 sticks have clocked, but I want more RAM too and would be curious as to the OC capability of their 2GB sticks.... Specifically the Ballistix DDR2 800 kit, as I can get it really cheap wholesale.....

    Hello everyone

Im a long time reader of these forums and this is my first post. I always overclocked my computers and on my previous CPU ( now in my wife box ) i reached a small 3.4 out of a E6700.. not bad. Now im running with a E8400 since they came out and these are my settings. I hope it will help others
