Ok Two options Ive Done,, Option One is to unsolder the 6000+.......
Oh 50% chance you can kill it too






Option Two,, Sand Lap for a Few Hours to get the IHS to 1mm thick.....

Also 50% chance you can bust pins

I removed the IHS's to show how thick the Stocker is Compared to Sanding and then Lapping Mirror mooth...









When i sanded the IHS I used some Old CPU tray's and an old 940socket tray (stole from dead Board)
Cut one tray to fit inside another ,,Insert the (cpu foam) under the 940ZIF tray...

940Zif,,Foam,,Small tray,, use blue painters tape to to hold Cpu and trays together...Now set the taped Cpu in the bigger tray and tape once more..

Now your ready for the 100/120grit wet dry...then 400/600 and onto 1000/1200 and Finaly 2000....










Note: Unsoldering resulted in about the the Same Temps(+-1-2c )Vs By Sanding/Lapping the IHS....Sanding IHS you leave a very thin edge that supports the W/B with out as much Risk of Crushing Core....Ive Shatered Cores Before and Thus when i want to get down and Crazy , I now just san it paper thin,No more risk of Cooking Core(unsoldering) or shattering under Preshure
