Do not remember exactly, but this happened with my Maximus Formula.
I believe it is one of the CPU settings. Not only do you need speed step disabled, but one other.

Actually, we might what to go the other way. Load a V7600 with a HT2900 bios. The V7600 clock and mem can not be tweeked. Maybe with the HT2900 bios the V7600 could be tweaked.

Just a thought.

Any one using a Q9450 and getting some good results? , would you mind posting your Settings ,I am having a really tough time with mine, I cant get it stable past 375 fsb, and 400 fsb 400 strap is BSOD central.

What the performance using 4x2gb modules on this board. I'm thinking of picking up another 4gb of the Patriot DDR3-1333 cas 7 since it's come down so much. Any issues other than oc headroom?

The Rampage Extreme is finally being reviewed. I am interested to see if the Rampage Extreme bios can be flashed to Maximus Extreme (I flashed my P5E to the Rampage Formula with ease). The question is, how different of an animal is the new board?

I will test to flash ASUS Maximus Extreme to ASUS Rampage Extreme when i get BIOS file
i have tested this:

Maximus Extreme -> P5E3 DELUXE WiFi-AP
Maximus Extreme -> P5E64 WS Evolution

Just give it some more time. Hopefully the Rampage Extreme bios will be cross flashable, and we can get more out out of the board (more then likely in the ram department).

How can I fix this? I want sound!

Anyone using the EK 3a mosfet blocks on this mobo? coz mine didn't come with the O spacers, i'm using EK barbs with the recesed O ring and i do have the spacers to hand if you think i shouls use them?

Check and see if the BIOs has the High Definition Audio Enabled.
In the BIOs I believe it is the Advanced, OnBoard Devices Configuration.

Well just got my 3rd mobo from RMA.
Powered it up and one long and 3 short beeps (VGA).
Well maybe my FireGL V7600 finally bit the bullet.
Put in my 9800GX2 and same thing.
WTF!

So then put the FireGL V7600 in the second slot, fired right up.
Now I have to send this thing back for the 4th time.

ASUS Tech support was willing to send me another refurbished board.
So I told them that I was tired of getting reworked boards and could I get a new one?
Well of course, the tech could not authorize that, so I had to wait for a supervisor.
Well, I did have to wait a while, but they are Cross Shipping me a NEW board.

Guess it just proves that if you want something ask for it.

Now we will see what I really get.

MIne did not come with the green O's either but I am using the EK backplates anyway so I did not need them.

No the O spacers for the barbs? My Striker Extreme mosfet blocks came with them?
And yeah i'm using the backplates too.
