tCL 8 doesn't seem to go a lot higher than 7. But I'm not gonna say I'm 100% sure, because I'm not. More testing to be done soon.
2070 C7 is 3D Marks & AquaMark 3 stable, and also Spi 8M stable

hmmmm well id guess your limited by the board/mem controller... maybe a pll mod like the one raja on anandtech did will help you

from the memory, you should be able to run 150mhz more with cas8, at the same voltage and stability, compared to cas7. if you get a smaller boost from cas8, then im pretty sure its the chipset/board limiting in almost all of those cases.

You've seen my sticks running Pi32M @ DDR3-1800+... yet, on the S2E even DDR3-1768 is unstable... not even a complete Pi 4M run.
Looks like a BIOS or mem ctrlr issue.

kinda weird... cause 790 seems to be tweaked for maximum perf at low mem clocks... yet it doesnt work well with cas6 at all...
but with those cas7 results, who would complain

Can't tell for sure, because I've only tried them on the S2E.

yeah, but the 150mhz difference from cas7 to cas8 is board unrelated. its what ive seen on all boards, sometimes even 200Mhz from cas7 to cas8...
